Advantages: Glenamara and Stephenson

Disadvantages: Everywhere else!

If after what I've said you still want to go, here we go!

2 points for parents

1 - The accomodation is overpriced (At least £10 so)
2 - If you apply after the first week of clearing, you won't get any despite the upbeat nature of the office. Just a warning, I know people who were mislead

Claude Gibb

Best catered option, very well placed (30 secs from lectures), decent rooms. Food is slop though

Lovaine Flats/Hall

Well placed, but tiny rooms (Like Strangeways!) and the kitchens are tiny. Really poor value!

Glenamara

The king of Northumbria. VERY nice rooms, almost like a hotel compared to others. Best choice by far

Stephenson

Second best. Like Glenamara but further out. Also about 100 floors high. Not bad though

Larches

NO NO NO NO NO!
1 - In the middle of one of the roughest areas of Newcastle
2 - Flats are in disrepair
3 - Miles out
4 - 50% of students want to leave once they get there

Private accomodation owned by uni

Here's a tip for those that get offered this. Make your own arrangements and save over 50% (I'm not joking!) I think it's a scandal how they get away with this.

Summing up

1st - Glenamara, Stephenson
2nd - Lovaine, Claude Gibb

After that sort your own out. If you don't get in (Clearing) and you really want to get in halls get temp digs and rooms will come free as foreign students want cheaper rooms. The office won't tell you that, but it happens EVERY year!
