Advantages: usually nearer to department, plus better chance of meeting new friends

Disadvantages: can only stay one year, heater is automatically off during the middle of night

If you are coming to study a post-graduate degree and wishing to stay in the campus, the good news is most likely your wish can be fulfilled. The bad news is that will not be longer than a year. Say if you start your course from May, you will have to move out in September the same year anyway.

And that is if you are satisfied with staying in a flat, because the chance of staying in a hall (if you are a post-grad student) is basically none.

However, my advice is don’t be put off by this because the off campus accommodation offers similar standard of living in terms of rent and convenience, if not better.
