I think it is safe to say that i am glad that this years tenancy agreement has come to an end.

As much as the actuall staff that work at the accommodation are really nice people, there are just way too many problems and i wish i had listened to those that had recently reviewed the accommodation on here.

When getting "shown round" the accommodation (if interested,) you will not get shown round the actual flat that you will then go onto live in, but instead a show flat. It's a bit of a risk, but the actual flat we lived in was more or less the same.

On move in day, the kitchen was really filthy. One would have thought it would be clean for new residents, but there were crumbs everywhere, the stove was dirty e.t.c. Not a good start at all. I was really disappointed and this set off alarm bells in my head.

Myself and friends had problems with the toilets, the showers/baths. Oh, and when you want something/need something fixed it can take months (that's if the problem gets fixed.)
There were several other things that weren't working in the flat either e.g - hoovers, but they never got fixed. The radiator is boiling hot... all the time. Waste of heat and money. Can get really uncomfortable at times.
The internet is also RIDICULOUSLY slow. If someone wants some entertainment and you cant afford a TV, so wants to watch something online. It can take up to 5 minutes to load a three minute clip on youtube. The internet is ridiculous! You can pay extra for it to be faster (apparently.) But why should you? You are already paying enough in rent!

The payment schedule does not make sense at all, and should be revised so it works out that rent is due AFTER the majority of students get their student loan. This would save Head Office a lot of time! I found Head Office slightly rude and unhelpful. One person would say one thing, another person would say something else. They only seem to get in contact when you haven't paid your rent on time (even though you would have told them that you weren't going to pay your rent on time,) i haven't had an email back when i have emailed to ask a question.

It's such a shame. The accommodation is in such a perfect place! But the company seem so reluctant to spend their money to fix basic things in the flat (even though you are paying your rent.) I am a student, for the money i am paying, this should all be done and should all be done within a timely manner. It is in an ideal location. Well ok, Greenstead is a fairly rough place to live, but the accommodation is VERY safe. The people that work at the accomodation are lovely, the flat is actually really decent, with the living area and kitchen very nice. BUT, when things do not work, and do not get fixed, it completely ruins the living experience.

Just a warning to students about my living experience there! By all means, go and see for yourself! Talk to the people that live there! Check the water taps e.t.c. Is the amount they are charing for rent, really fair? Specially if they are reluctant to fix things that are wrong, or if it takes months to fix things? Questionable.
