Accommodation in generalNewest Review: ... to Uni accomodation. I am no longer living in the same place (I have moved to self catered ) and the quality of the building is much better. The main thing that means I am enjoying this year much more is the people in the flat. Out of 11 of us I would call 8 or 9 of them my friends, and the only reason it is not all of them is because we all have busy lives and I haven't been able to talk to them all properly yet. If I had writen this opinion at the same time as writing my opinion on Computer Science at Exeter I would have said "Why am I going into halls for a second year??!!" I am now 5 weeks into the second year and I am so glad that I returned to Uni accomodation. University accomodation is a hard thing to find anywhere at most universities and although many universities are working on their accomodation strategies it is still a case of hoping and praying that you get somewhere slightly decent to live. Now that is undergraduate level! When you get to postrgraduate level it gets even more difficult. Most universities have no provisions for postgraduates just presuming that you can sort something out for yourself and lets face it many of us could, but sometimes when you are new to an area a bit of help is nice! Exeter however do have provisions for postgraduates and seem to be a lot better at this than many others. For a start ...

Exeter is not alone in having accomodation that is good but not brilliant. To be honest, Exeter's programme of building and refitting halls is a little slow, and the cracks are beginning to show in some halls. But realistically, it doesn't really matter. The halls are good fun. the food is terrible, the cleaners do a good job for the hours and wages they are employed for and the atmosphere in halls is brilliant! Living in Exeter is not cheap however. Houses and Halls all are victim to the wealthy status of most of Exeter's students. Sloanes as they are known, are willing to pay a lot for not much, mainly due to daddy being willing to pay for anythiong his ...
