Advantages: Nice cleaning ladies

Disadvantages: Location, ugly building, cold and terrible food

I had the mispleasure of staying in Andrew Melville Hall whilst in St Andrews and let me tell you that it is not for the faint-hearted.

Firstly there is the location - probably about a 25 minute walk from most university buildings (when sober) and a long, long stagger back from the pub after a few.

Secondly there is the building - a total eyesore and beleive me the pictures do it no justice. It truley is a grim piece of work. Anybody seeking something pituresque should definately avoid it.

Thirdly is the temperature - cold, cold, cold. Bearing in mind also that at weekends they still do not put the heating on during the day. This situation may have improved since I stayed there as surveys were going on to prove just how cold a place this was.

Fourthly is the food. Bleurgh, what else needs to be said!

On a plus point however was the cleaning staff who to my knowledge were always chirpy.
