Advantages: nice people, pretty location

Disadvantages: bad food, distance from town

David Russell is one of the biggest halls at St Andrews, and is generally acknowledged not to rate so highly as most of the others. The rooms are very small, and you are (unless very lucky) required to climb lots of flights of stairs to get to the rooms. This can be especially "fun" when moving in and out. Additionally the food is worse than bad! Probably the most important thing about this hall is that its about 15-25 minutes (depending on how fast/slow you walk!) from town and most lectures. On the other hand, its fairly conveniant for sciences and sports facilities.
The people are also mostly very nice, but the hall is not as nice as they try to make out in the brochure!
