Advantages: Very clean, cheap, and cosy

Disadvantages: none

Starting my studies in the second year direct entry on my course I was dubious as to what sort of accomodation was available to me, I didn't want to be in halls as I am a mature student and my days of loud music till all hours the night before exams didn't appeal, don't get me wrong I am no prude! I enjoy a good time like anyone else.

I was delighted to discover that the house I had been allocated was wonderful, not at all like your usual student house. I live in a warm, cosy house with two other women and we have a great laugh. The rooms are well decorated, and the landlord and accomodation office are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

The telephone installation bloke said it was one of the nicest student houses he had been too in Middlesbrough!.

With a ten minute walk from both the town centre and the University it is in a prime location for any new or existing students.

The cost of living in Middlesbrough is very low and the rent for the head tenancy properties is very reasonable, would be difficult to match from a private landlord.

The cost of living in Middlesbrough is quite cheap but I think
you've been very lucky with your accommodation. I am studying
here for the 4th year now and I have seen plenty of nasty head tenancy
housing, remember head tenancy housing is still owned by private landlords
who have handed it over to the university to rent out.
Just because a property reaches certain safety standards
etc. it doesn't mean that it's not going to have nasty decor
and poky rooms.
