Obviously I'm in no position to comment on ALL of the blocks, as they vary pretty wildly - but the general standard of rooms I've seen has been pretty good. The induction process allows you to choose what sort of things you want from your block - and because of the good variety, most of the people I know were happy with what they got. Most impressive on my list was the 'pod', an ensuite shower/toilet thing, not the prettiest of boxes but a complete godsend if you dont like the whole communal vibe about toilets. Bad things mount up, but so do the good things... Top floor is 5 storeys up - hell when you have to move out at the end of every term (not all blocks make you move out, and you can choose this). BUT the view is amazing - a wussy comeback, but you have to see it. The power supply has a habit of shorting out if you overload it - turn computers on before anything else to get over this. Theres ALWAYS hot water! YAY! Basically, if you are willing to see the bright side of things, there are lots of things you'll like. If you are a serial complainer, you still get a degree of choice as to what you get. Overall very good.
