Disadvantages: can be a bit inflexible - no candles are allowed in rooms...

How much you will appreciate the accomodation at the university of Leicester depends on exactly what you want from where you stay. I've done the rounds of self catering accomodation and I have to say that the best accomodation is undoubtedly in Nixon court (once called Putney Road Houses), but self catering, although the food is guaranteed to be better than catered halls,can be a bit isolating. If you want to get to know people quickly and feel part of a community Gilbert Murray and Villiers are in my opinion the best places to stay. If you want real independence however, I would advise you to rent privately.
