Cranbourne House
by Richlw
As i was scanning for any news of my old halls of residence, just to pass the time and reminiss about the good old days i came accross the only one review about it. and it was awful, so awful infact that i felt i had to say about the good side of Cranbourne House.
Cranbourne house, in effect does exactly what it says on the ... tin! it's a student Uni's primary Halls of residence. there are bound to be a few problems due to the sheer mass of people that are there. but with this huge number of people around you, you will make some of the best bonds and friendships in your life, the design of the halls is setup into three flats on each floor, with eight rooms in each. the flats and kitchens can indeed get dirty, BUT that's because a load of students are living there!! the layout lets people from the whole floor socialise with ease whilst still maintaining a good element of privacy. friends are always made throughout a whole block and bu the end you know almost everyone you see in one way or another.
the location is ideal, being just on the cusp of the Town with easy bus routes to the various campuses.
In short, you have to expect the rough with the smooth when you go to live in a place where you are surrounded by students, but if you think of the bad things rather than the fact that you are in an ideal setting surrounded by like minded people all around you, you wont get out what uni is all about. Accommodation in general
by jenikya
I had some horrible experiences with accommodation at Bournemouth University. In particular, I found staff unfriendly and professional. When I came to report problems, they treated me very rudely and did not give me the time of day. They also did not take action. I moved out because it was so bad. (The day I moved out, I said I'd ... return my key in the early evening cause I needed some transportation. An hour after meeting with them and signing to terminate my contract, they called me and demanded I return my key... they knew that I was waiting for transportation. Did they expect me to sit on the side of the road with my belongings and wait all afternoon before my friend could pick me up after his work?) I still keep in contact with my flatmates. My flatmates are always mentioning the problems they have as well, with the staff and the rooms themselves. (For example, some cleaners through out some stuff that was not meant to be thrown out, and they charged everyone in the flat 7 quid to dispose of this.) It is too bad because this problem has been lingering over my head for the whole year. I really don't want anyone else to have to go through this. It's been a nightmare, to say the least. I wrote an article about these experiences. For full article, go here: http://www.jenikya.com/text/articles/cranborne.htm
