Don't choose Broadgate Park!!! Don't make the same mistake...
I have been dealing with the same situation than Owen (but at Cloister House) for all this semester and I can't stand one day more here.

Unfortunately, the contract is one year long...

You can listen EVERYTHING!!! And the situation becomes worse if you have noisy flatmates (as in my case), smoking and making noise after midnight.


Staff do nothing at all. I have been fighting with this situation for several weeks. And obviously noisy flatmates don't want to chage. I was thinking to move to Albion, but I find it's the same.

Albion House is terrible! I have been in dispute with UPP since the first week I moved in here because there is NO SOUND INSULATION in the walls. I ended up on sleeping tablets because I couldn't get to sleep and got woken up by people in rooms on either side of me. You can hear conversations at EXACTLY THE SAME VOLUME AS IF THEY WERE IN THE SAME ROOM. The staff at UPP are completely unhelpful and even rude when you explain it to them. They trap you in a contract and then you can't get out of it when you discover the truth about their substandard accomodation. The rooms are NOT FIT FOR THE PURPOSE ADVERTISED - they are SLEEP DEPRIVATION and STUDY DEPRIVATION cells. UPP try to keep this quiet and hidden. DO NOT MOVE TO ALBION - EVER!!!

I totally agree with HoonKiat that the accomodation at Broadgate Park is really so terrible. And indeed I cannot see any point why students have different accomodation considtions while paying the same fees! The reply from the accomodation office is just they need time to refurnish all. Broadgate park is another off campus university owned accommodations. It is just 5 minuets walking distance from the West Entrance of the university.
