Having spent this last year at Castle Leazes I have found it to have a lot to offer first year students at Newcastle. These other reviews are misleading. All though Castle Leazes halls is best for location and meeting loads of people, sadly it is also frankly crap. Do not come here if you value your freedom, especially after a gap year because it is very claustrophobic. Nearly everyone is a first year. My opinion of Castle Leazes halls of residence is that it is a great choice if you are a first year at Newcastle. It is a great way to meet people and form really strong friendships.
