Cripps Hall is one of 12 Halls on the lush green campus of the University of Nottingham. A gift of the Cripps family (who made their fortunes through the production of velcro) it opened in 1958, built in the attractive neo Georgian style layed out around two 'quads' hense adopting an atmosphere slightly remoniscent of the traditional Oxbridge college but less insular. The centre piece is a large clock tower (the clock doesn't actually work though), adjacent to the Dining Hall.
