Cripps Hall:
... Hall is one of 12 Halls on the lush green campus of the University of Nottingham. A gift of the Cripps family (who made their fortunes through the production of velcro) it opened in 1958, built in the attractive neo Georgian style layed out around two 'quads' hense adopting an atmosphere slightly remoniscent of the traditional Oxbridge college but less insular. The centre piece is a large clock tower... Read the full review: Cripps Hall, University of Nottingham by toxophilite |

Halls Of Residence At Nottingham Trent University in general ... wasnt a resident at Peveril hall but my girlfriend at the time was. So i spent quite a lot of time there. The flats were pretty decent - it had just been built a few years when we were there (1998) and so the decor was good and the facilities pretty decent. ACCESS The halls are located round the back of the Clifton campus. Entry to the buildings is by Key or buzzer (pretty secure) Entry to the flats is by key or buzzer. (pretty secure too) FACILITIES - Fair sized kitchen/common room which has a cooker and often a microwave in to. Windows overlook the central courtyards, Table in the kitchen and 5/6 chairs. It got a bit crowded when everyone was in there ... Read the full review: Peveril Halls by kingjevs |

Halls Of Residence At The University Of Leicester in general ... student accomodation was nothing like I expected. Instead of dimly-lit, breize-blocked cells in dingy tower blocks, I was pleasantly surprised to see bright, well-furnished rooms in pleasant grounds and in a pretty posh area, too. Most of Leicester's halls are in Oadby, a well-to-do and leafy suburb that really isn't the sort of place you'd associate with student life. The disadvantage is that you face a 40-minute walk (or ten minute bus/cycle ride) to the university itself, but I stayed in halls for two years and I can't say that was a major issue. Beaumont Hall (where I was) is often considered to be the "poshest", but I ... Read the full review: Generally very good by beckstrous |

Halls Of Residence At De Montfort University ... am writing this opinion from first hand experience. Unlike Meggienoo_d and LouisaNott, I have just spent the past nine months living in Scraptoft Halls. I agree that the halls themselves might not be aesthetically pleasing but they are well maintained and situated in a really nice area of Leicester. The fact that it will soon be closing down is a shame. The food is ok and it's better than having to cook your own meals every evening after a day at uni, and believe me you get your money's worth! As for carpets, yes it's true, not all rooms have them, but that's only in certain halls. I was lucky enough to have a big room with a carpet and even frien...
