Advantages: cheap rent, good social life at home

Disadvantages: limited university owned accomodation

Bournemouth University has a varity of University owned accomodation.

1. The Student Village - based on the University's main Talbot campus, it contains houses which have between 3 and 7 bedrooms, all self-catering, with fully equiped kitchens and showers.
You will usually only get in here if you are either in your first or final year, cost approx £2,100 a year including bills, but not during the summer hoilday.

2. Hurn House - This building (8 floors) is located just outside of Bournemouth town centre in "Lansdown". Cost is about the same as the student village.

3. Cranborne House - This is a new building, only built 4 years ago. Also located in "lansdown", cranborne house has flats, each with six or seven bedrooms and ensuite facilities. Cost of living in Cranborne house is £2500 for 40 weeks, excluding summer.

Availability
Student village can accomodate 250 students
Hurn House can accomodate 152 students
Cranborne House can accomodate 499 students.

Other students wanting accomodation are placed in Hotels, Guest Houses or with Famalies.

I would not advise anyone to stay in Bournemouth University accommodation. I had the most horrible experience with them. I have posted it on this site. Trust me, it is horrible. I have stayed in better hotels sharing with people I don't even know!

It'd be nice to have some more information on room size etc. As mentioned in the comments below.

I don't quite see how this could be better than a hotel (!) and ditto the comments below. Sorry!
