Advantages: cheaper than most, more relaxed, nice and large

Disadvantages: No group living area, can get locked out easily

In my first year at coventry university, i stayed in Singer halls of residence. And by secretly judging other students accomodation, i thought singer halls was the best.

The room: The rooms in singer were spacious and had a bed, a long desk, a wardrobe, shelves, cupboards, a sink and 2 chairs. The rooms were larger than other student accomodations i had seen. The bed however was a problem, they were on wheels! So if a group of you were sat on the bed watching a film, and were leaning agaisnt the wall, the bed would slowly but surely roll away! it was quite annoying!

The Flat: There were two toilets, one a plain toilet, the other had a bath in it too. There was a separate shower room. The kitched was ok, small, and there is no sitting area which i think is singer halls biggest problem.

Security: The security was a lot looser than at other accomodations. Anyone could walk into the area of residence, while most other accomodations require a card to simply get on the grounds. This is good however, as it means you can have an unlimited amount of poeple in, and since people need cards to get in the stairs, then a card to get into the flat, and then a key to get in the room, it was pretty secure anyway.

Services: If you lock yourself out of your room you can go to the office and get someone to let you in. this will cost you though, especially if it is at night. Many times i locked myself out, and would have to sleep on peoples floors.

I think this is the best accomodation because it is more free than the other ones, some even have a curfew! This accomodation, while it said not to in the rules, allowed you to have anyone stay over and at the end of the year, i had marks from glowsticks all over my wall, and i didnt get fined! oh yeah!

Summary: A great place to spend your uni life!
