Advantages: Good fittings

Disadvantages: Built on wasteland, poor location

First off I must stated that I have not lived at the halls, but had visited friends there a few times and stayed there for about 2 weeks. I will be commenting on Clayhill Halls which I had stay in.

This hall is in the middle of no where, there is very little transport into or out of the halls. There is a university run shutter bus, but that does not run too regularly or too late into the night. So if you want to go out at night in a heavy snow storm, tough luck! Its about 1 mile to walk to the nearest train station.

The ground the halls are situated is at the end of a dodgy estate, walking alone at night is NOT recommended. The grounds looks more like a wasteland than anything else. There is NOTHING onsite, and the nearest pub (neighbourhood type) is about 1/2 miles away.

The rooms and flat are fitted to a high standard (fairly new) and are of a good size. They are all ensuite I think. The arrangement is access to the flats off the stairs, through a main door into a living/dinning area. The rooms (4 of them) are off this area/hallway along with the kitchen.

I would not recommend this halls to anyone, but then I will not recommend this part of the world to anyone.

Summary: You need a car.

I lived at Clayhill and I have to say I kind of disagree, yes it was situated by the sewage which is annoying, but it's not as isolated and cut off as you state. Its like ten mins to walk to surbiton train station and the uni bus is very regular throughout the day. As far as noisy tenants they are great with dealing with this and its not very far from the uni either.

I pretty much agree with this. I've lived at Clayhill and it was awful, I hated every moment of living there (which is why I'm no longer there).

This review is completely unfair and as a clayhill resident i must disagree with it entirely. I think it is important to be a resident of the halls in order to review it correctly, never the less give such a negative one. I love the site, as does most of the 600 people living here !!
