Halls Of Residence At The University Of SurreyNewest Review: ... Battersea blocks have recently had the windows and carpets updated and are a popular choice with students Bellerby Court: Bellerby rooms are in rent band D, which means they are en-suite- however they are a mile away from campus. This court is situated near the hospital and tesco, so is handy for shopping (and emergencies!) but not so for coming back from the union! Floors are in rooms of 6. ... more |

Reading the reciews on this subject, I noticed that the newest review was from 2002 and the most expensive rent band was £65 per week!!! So I thought it about time this got some updating. Rent now ranges from £54.30 for a duplex room to £115 for the top band. The rent is charged weekly (although collected monthly) and includes all bills (gas/elec, water, internet). The only added bill you need to pay for is if you require a TV licence. Cleaners come in 2/3 times a week to take rubbish and clean the kitchen and bathrooms however students have to clean their own bedrooms. The rent bands are: A- £54.30 B- £69 C-£76 D- £94 E- ... One of the good things about the uniS accommodation is the variety, you've got really posh places with ensuite shower rooms to duplexes where you have to share you life with someone you've never met, to Hazel Farm which is 3 miles from campus, but is by far the cheapest. I stayed in Twyford court, It was my fourth choice and the most expensive of the residences. It was full of post grads, lovely though they were, it meant it was one of the quieter halls as they all had to do real work!! There was 12 to a floor but we all had our own shower and loo. We also had a cleaner which was great! There is also an intercom to the front door at twyford court so you ... Read the complete review

As a student at UniS i thought it to be my duty to tell you all I have encounted through my first year. ACCOMMODATION - The first question to ask yourself is where do you want to live? I left home and headed for halls, my brother stayed at home and my friend stayed in private accommodation. What shall I do you cry....well here are some pointers: IN HALLS: You can have cheap (council flat look alike) to more expensive modern house accommodation. Of course this will all depend on your finances. If your like me with very little cash you'll opt for the latter. I was put into 'Surrey court' level four in a flat called 'Wey'. ... One of the main advantages of the residences at Unis is that they are cheaper than off-campus accomodation with rents from £33 (shared split level room) to £65 (with ensuite)(please note these are approximate costs), with the exception of the ensuite rooms you will be lucky to find anything cheaper in Guildford. Also most halls are located on the main campus with Gill Avenue approx 10 min walk away and Hazel Farm absolutely miles away on the north edge of Guildford (probably around 30 mins walk but I got lost the only time I walked from there so I could be wrong) meaning that it tends to be a good idea to catch the bus (which was free but I'm not sure if it still ...
