Advantages: mostly on campus, so not far to walk, You are right in the middle of the student life, It's hard to be lonely

Disadvantages: can be expensive, Can be loud, Not good if your easily distracted

One of the good things about the uniS accommodation is the variety, you've got really posh places with ensuite shower rooms to duplexes where you have to share you life with someone you've never met, to Hazel Farm which is 3 miles from campus, but is by far the cheapest.
I stayed in Twyford court, It was my fourth choice and the most expensive of the residences. It was full of post grads, lovely though they were, it meant it was one of the quieter halls as they all had to do real work!! There was 12 to a floor but we all had our own shower and loo. We also had a cleaner which was great! There is also an intercom to the front door at twyford court so you don't have to go down stairs to let people in.
Gill Avenue was very similar, and within walking distance of the campus so it is quite good value for money. The main problam is that you have to walk there through an underpass, and at night muggings etc. are not uncommon, so you have to be prepare to walk in groups or get a cab.
A friend stayed in the duplexes, she was a lucky one as the girl she shared with was lovely, and they had a great time. Generally the rest of the accommodation is fairly similar and mothing to shout about. Although I don't know about the one that looks like a train, that wasn't built when i lived in residences.
Just prepare to get fit as you will end up walking up and down the hill all day.

I didn't even know there was a uni there!

Just a tip, if you split your op up it makes it easier to read, and it is more helpful if you give more information such as prices and facilities.

Thanks! :-)
