Maple bank is situated on the vale. If applying to birmingham uni i strongly recommend choosing the vale. The main bulk of first years live here and its a fantastic atmosphere, especially in summer when everyone is out having barbeques etc. As far as maple goes itself it can only be described as cheap and cheerful. It is the cheapest of the vale accomodations, but has a tiny kitchen and no real living area. This isnt really a problem as you will makje friends in nearby elgar who have huge kitchen/living room areas, so always predrink there. I've just finished my first year having lived in maple and despite th small space, i would still reccomend it. At the end of the day you're a student and you need the money much more than you need the space. The other vale accomodations are mason halls which has a long thin kitchen and is much more expensive, shacklon, again bigger and ,more people in each flat but more expensive, elgar which is much more luxurious, aitken which is reasonable, and tennis courts slightly off the vale but quite big. Whichever one you choose, however you will have a fantastic time
