Advantages: near to town, very near to campus

Disadvantages: small rooms, expensive

These halls are mainly for those students studying a course at the New College (formerly LSU) campus. The main courses are Sport, Art and Teaching. If you are on one of these 3 courses the likelyhood is that you will be in one of 3 main halls. Gately, Romero or Traditional. The other 2 will soon have separate categories.

When you come to University you want somewhere that you can call home for the first year of your studies. Romero Halls offers you a decent room to call home.

The room has a desk, bed, and phone connection the rest is up to you. Also there is an en-suite 'room' in each flat. Word of advice - when you have a shower make sure the shower door is shut otherwise you WILL set the fire alarm off which can be very embarrasing.

There isn't much room spare once you have moved your stuff in. This in someway is good. It means that you will not be able to leave it as a mess otherwise you will struggle to get in and out. Also you will not be able to buy too much stuff as there is no room for it. Also it stops your room from being used as the common room which can be annoying when you are trying to sleep.

There are fully equiped kitchens for preparing meals. The kitchens are shared between 5-8 people and have two ovens, two freezers, a microwave , a dining area and lockers for students to keep their food in. This area is cleaned by the university staff on a regular basis.

There is parking for about 20-30 cars. But to be honest you don't really need a car as the halls are located very near to town.

The fees are quite expensive. £2886.30 for 38 weeks accommodation. This works out at £74.83 a week. Which considering you don't get food is quite expensive.

There are approximately 255 rooms. So most people will usually either get in here or Gately halls.

There is storage for cycles and there is a laundrette too.

Overall these are good halls and ar
e just right for first year students as you can meet lots of new people and learn what university life is about
