Advantages: Close to facilities, cheap, spacious

Disadvantages: Cleaners, slow response to fix things

I spent my PGCE year living in Tocil Flats. It was excellent for convenience as it is very close to the centre of the campus. The shops are only a 2 minute walk and so are all the universiry facilities such as the library, Student Union and academic buildings. The Sports Centre is also very close by.
The rooms are reasonably big and have all the basics you will need. The bathroom facilities are shared which can pose a slight problem in the morning as there was only one shower and a bath. The drainage of the shower can also be a bit of a problem at times.
There is plenty of cupboard space in the kitchen. You also have the benefits of a toaster that cannot burn your toast, even if you tried. Self-catering is much cheaper and more convenient, particularly as there is a Tesco a short walk away.
The only drawbacks to Tocil Flats are that they are incredibly hot, all the time. There have also been problems with the cleaners so you have to be careful. If there is a problem, the Accommodation Office can be really slow to respond. So, it can take a long time to get things fixed.
Generally, it is a great place to live. You can get a permit for the carpark adjacent to the flats, but you have to have a very good reason. Also, there is a serious lack of telephones.
