Halls Of Residence At The University Of Edinburgh:
... CHOOSE POLLOCK HALLS- is the key advice i was given and should be given to any student looking at places to stay for their first year. Pollock Halls are outrageously expensive, the food provided is terrible and the whole place is populated by boring, loud, obnoxious yahs. Instead i suggest looking into self catering flats provided by the university. I stayed in Fraser Court in my first year and it was a good l... Read the full review: Fraser Court :) by becca140 |

Halls Of Residence At The University Of Dundee ... halls at Dundee are some of the best, there s a massive new development and they are still very shiny and new. The flats house about 6 or 7 students and are all individual rooms with an ensuite bathroom. There is then a communal kitchen and lounge area. Normally these are a fair size and will fit a decent sized party. The sound is an issue though as none of the buildings seem to have been soundproofed and so you can hear whats going on above and below you, as well as from either side. Which can be quite creepy. Sanctuary management are also very mean, the cleaners are loud and couldn t care less, they also don t clean unless the place is already clean....? If you ... Student Houses ... a student I have done plenty of house hunting, here is what me and my fellow students have found! (And been advised about!) It s easy to overlook something, so in my advice, take a list of things you need to discuss with the landlord/ your students union. Finding a student house: Your student union may have a list of reputable landlord and landladies, if your Union doesn t have a housing/accomodation/advice centre, your council could have a list of landlords letting to students. But your SU should in theory be able to help with checking contracts, repair queries, landlord liasion, and referral to specialist housing advisors. Important point: Don t sign contracts/tena... Halls Of Residence At The University Of Dundee ... halls at dundee university are far superior to other halls that I ve visited and stayed in! This is partly due to the completion of the new student village which was completed for the 2006/2007 intake. When I got my accomodation brochure through the post I was really impressed and quite excited at the prospect of moving in! I was so eager that I made my choice that same day and posted back my reply! I got allocated my first choice accomodation which was Belmont Flats. I think these are definitely the best on campus. All study bedrooms are en suite, with a shower. The flats accomodate either 4 or 5 students....I was in a 5 bedroom flat with 3 girls including myself a...
