Two reasons; 1. Believe it or not, the door wasn't actually propped open. 2. I can't afford to burn £30. This decision was probably the worst of my life. Victoria Halls Student Accomodation (437 words)
by An unhappy resident - written on 27/05/10
Rating:

Victoria Halls is terrible, just terrible. I honestly couldn't give this company a low enough rating. Before writing this review I checked out some others and some of the complaints (high fines, useless management, etc.) are completely true. It feels like living in a prison when at any point a "caretaker", Victoria Halls' resident money makers, can come in and fine you £5 for having a carrier bag on the floor. Personally I have been fined £30 for propping open a fire door. £15 for the fine and £15 for a totally preposterous administration fee! Oh yes! All the fines come with an administration fee which there is no way of ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Victoria Hall
by anonymous - written on 19/05/08
Rating:

Apart from its easy access to the University and the fact that it is safe, there isn't much to it. A lot of noise from residents about which management do not do much and cannot deal with effectively. They also charge you for every little thing they think is missing or damaged according to their perspective without you being present when they do the final flat check. Think twice before you sign the contract cause you cannot get you money back either!

Victoria Hall: non existant customer service, and out for as much money as ... (213 words)

Rating:

Dont expect any customer service let alone good customer service the staff aint heard of it. Trying to get somthing fixed or replaced is a complete joke and if they dont want to do something they'll make up an excuse. the kitchen is tiny and the living room is resonable enough but there is not enough room to sit 4 around the table. definaly not enough cuboard space for 4 (which is the average flat size). the sofa and chairs are a throw back to a 90's primary school. extremely uncomfortable. dont expect anything good from the supplied eqipment either, the pots will rust through in no time and the cutlery is likey to fall apart after no time at all. ...  Read the complete review

DON'T BOTHER, UNHELPFUL, SPITEFUL AND AWFUL MANAGEMENT (606 words)

Rating:

Victoria hall provides student accommodation. That's it. They also try and extract as much money from you as possible and believe their word to be true. If you're looking for a good "student" lifestyle in your first year DO NOT BOTHER with Victoria. I was at the one in Leicester and found their management arrogant, nasty and disrespectful of anyone's beliefs. They have ridiculous rules and give you NO room for lenience. On one occasion, on the same day that I'd had a break up with my boyfriend and my sister was in hospital, I had friends round trying to make me feel better watching Jeremy Kyle in my room, the "landlady" ...  Read the complete review

Victoria Halls Birmingham - Lose the Arrogance Guys (604 words)

Rating:

Victoria Hall, providers of student accommodation in various cities around the UK, prides itself on the quality of service that it gives to its students. The flats and buildings are functional if uninspiring. The student population, in Birmingham at least, comprises of foreign, Asian, and lonesome soles. Conveniently located less than 30 seconds walk from Birmingham University (5 minutes from University Station) and the centre of Selly Oak. I lived in a four bedroom flat with three friends. I was lucky enough to have the Deluxe (Double) Room. It's only a few extra hundred pounds for the year but affords more wardrobe space, a double bed, and a larger room. The  Read the complete review
