Halls Of Residence At The University Of Birmingham ... is a development of self-catering flats close to the university of Birmingham, part of the Pritchatts Park Student Village. Students are in Flats of 6 with in 3 story blocks with 2-3 flats on each floor. The Flats have been recently refurbished and so have a pleasent atomosphere and with large desks so there is pleanty of space to spread work out or make a mess. The rooms are a reasmonble size. There is also a large kitchen area which includes a microwave, very useful for cooking ready meals. But be warned the microwave instructions are very hard to understand, so I have not been able to do stuff like defrost meat. The Flat is lacking in a lounge area, w... Accommodation in general ... some of the reviews on here i'm really surprised to hear some of the horror stories about accomodation in the halls of residence at Birmingham. I lived in Mason Hall in 1997 and would definately recommend it to anyone starting at Birmingham. The rooms are basic but always warm and cleaned regularly with bins being emptied daily. I understand that they now also have phones in each room which is an advantage as there used to be quite a que for the two public phones near the entrance hall. The staff were always really friendly and helpfull and the security guard was always willing to help with small emergencies such as having locked yourself out of your room ... Accommodation in general ... i'm gonna do it simply. I only know the accomadation at Perry Barr and it falls into three areas: Oscott Gardens, The Coppice and Hampstead halls. Oscott Gardens: Across the road from UCE. These are probably the nicest of all the halls. They,re split into small flats containing six bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Also a shared kitchen/dining/living area. They're very modern and fairly spacious theres a small parking area and securitys very good. The grounds the're set in ars very pleasent with plenty of grass for summer sunbathing! The Coppice: I've not spent as much time here as the others but again its across he road from uni with six bedr... Read the full review: Lovely!!! by lizzie0682 |
