mangoman Ranmoor House: ... initially applying to Stephenson Hall, i was shunted off to Ranmoor. Thank god that happened! Ranmoor Halls is just up the road from Broomhill, a great little hub of shops (24 hr super market etc), news agents, and pubs. Also situated on the 60 bus route (straight into town + uni) its really well placed for students. The halls have about 700 people, which some say is a bad thing, yet in reality its quite ...

Anyway, Back to Victoria House. From the brochure housing services has sent to you, you probably have glanced upon the picture of a dodgy looking old building. Well, in this case, looks aren't deceiving. Being such an old building, the outside view can be a bit disconcerting. However, take comfort that it isn't actually that bad! This ensures that in the event of a connection time-out your contribution is not lost on posting.Bodington hall is a great place to be as it has a real community feel. I has most things that you need all on site and as many of my friends found out it is a good place to find parteners. The buses are a pain and the speed bumps wake you up. Not to be attempted with a hang over. There is an asda at the end of the brown line and the free paper everyday helps to make the journey more interesting, however do be prepared for deadly bus drivers. (the number after each subtitle is the rating out of five I give each thing. ie 'Bars (5)' would mean i give the bars there 5 out of five) ====CROOKESMOOR==== Distance from Student Union (4) - About 5-10 minutes depending on which end of Crookesmoor you live on Shops (4)- A Late shop, Laundrette, Offlicence, few Newsagents, couple of second hand furniture shops, phone shop, chippy, curry/balti houses, cafe, petrol station and a Bookies.
