benlepensive Hasbro Star Wars Meena Tills: ... very handsome addition to the Hasbro Star Wars action figure range. Those of us who are already familiar with Admiral Ackbar (Return Of The Jedi) will recognise this species as the Mon Calamari. Ackbar played a significant role in the defeat of the Empire and this chap was also on the side of the Rebellion. Meena Tills was a Senator, but was unfortunately arrested and put under slavery, when the Empire took c...

benlepensive Mattel Masters of the Universe He-Man - Zodak Figure
... would have to take a trip back to the eighties to meet this character again. Zodak is one of the heroes from the cartoon He Man and The Masters Of The Universe. There was a Zodak action figure released by Mattel in the eighties. A rather satisfying and chunky toy with a twisting head and a wonderful piece of strap on red body armour. There now exists a brand new version of Zodak and he is quite an improvement on the original toy. The first thing I noticed about the new Zodak is that his body colour has changed. It used to be a pale fleshy colour and now he looks super tanned, like he has been overdoing the St Tropez! He also has blue flecks on his body which is rathe...

benlepensive Hasbro Star Wars Utapaun Warrior
... peculiar, yet oddly welcome addition to the Star Wars universe is this chap, the Utapaun Warrior. They are native inhabitants of Utapau and are rather ignorant creatures, but visually very interesting. I find that the alien universe in Star Wars is always a lot more engaging that the human universe, so this alien is an instant eye catcher. His face is great, with his hollow deep set eyes, which seem to burn into you, he could easily scare many a collector! The scull like head is shaped well and has wonderful detail on it. The warrior has nasty gnashing teeth which snarl and grimace over his jawline. The costume is somewhat elaborate, with the deep blooded maroon...

benlepensive Hasbro Star Wars Mon Mothma Figure
... was somewhat of a disgrace that Mon Mothma was never turned into an action figure the first time around. Her appearance in Return Of The Jedi had turned heads, as she was one of only a handful of female characters to have graced the Star Wars universe. Kenner had made dozens of variations of Princess Leia, so why not add Mon Mothma to the line-up. Part of the problem could have been that Mon Mothma lacked play value. Her role in the film was to deliver orders and oversea the Rebel plans. Her chairing of a meeting was a significant moment in the film, but in terms of action scenes, she had little to do. The old Mon Mothma also looked a bit like Delia Smith in a white ...
