Good toy my lad enjoys playing with

Our little lad is a Ben 10 fan, on and off. One minute it's Ben 10 and then next he's into another action hero. One of the Ben 10 merchandise he's playing with a lot these days, since he got it for Christmas is his Ben 10 Ultimate Alien - Rath. I think this toy will appeal more so to little lads rather than girls, but I could be totally wrong.

The action figure itself is a good looking 'nasty' in a combination of bright orange and white and black markings with the widest shoulders known to mankind. He looks half man half wild cat and he's pretty scary. He stands upright and has all moving parts.

The action figure is approximately 5 inches in height and this guy looks like he's been doing some serious working out or been on steroids. As I say, the arms and legs are fully moveable and rotate well. The top half of the figure is more moveable and rotates better but the bottom half is more static and I think this is to give it more stability.

To work this little guy, you have to align the moveable leg with the static leg and this gets the whole top half of the figure to spin around like it does in the cartoon and his mouth to move up and down. It's actually quite effective and I've had a go myself a few times now.

We paid £8.75 for this action figure but it seems to be very well made and sturdy as he can often be seen charging around the house with it screaming that he's going to kill someone and bashing it into various objects. It's made of plastic, but it's obviously very strong plastic and it seems well made.

Nice to add to his little collection of other Ben 10 action figures.

A nice figure to add to the rest!

Myself and my family have now been buying my son Ben10 films and merchandise for nearly a year now, with him eventually stating that he didn't really like the stuff, so now we have stopped and gone onto another so-called "trend" of his (WWE wrestling), he has done a complete u turn and started buying himself Ben10 merchandise out of his birthday money, yes he is that fickle!

After a recent trip to Asda he spotted the toy I will review for you on offer in there toy section, and stated that he knew the character and he would really quite like it, thank you very much....can't argue with that can I!?

The toy in question is - "Ben10 ultimate alien - Rath".

From what I can gather this figure is from the newer incarnation of Ben10 characters, and for those of you who are lucky enough not to be exposed to this series it is a boy called Ben who somehow develops the ability to change into 10 different alien persona's, though for what reason I have no idea (God bless dvd's and televisions in bedrooms!).

The figure itself is a free standing fully moveable toy, with the looks and figure of a man/tiger, albeit a pretty scary looking one, being extremely mean looking, and this is one of the actual persona's of Ben, I hate to think what the baddies look like!

The figure is around 3-4" inches high, with the top half of it's body being proportionally wider than the bottom half, giving it a look of a feline body builder, with the arms and hands being over large and muscly, with the legs being quite puny, with claw like feet to keep the figure from over balancing and helping it stand firmly, though the slightly widened stance of the legs offers some stability too.

The arms are fully moveable, with the shoulder parts being socketed, for full rotational movement, though the motion of this toy needs that element (I will divulge very soon!), with each claw like hand having a rather mean looking extra long spike protruding from over the middle claw, think wolverine but more menacing!

The legs and bottom half of the figure are pretty rigid, though you can see the top half is moveable and just slid over the top, with the right hand leg being the lever to release the mechanism to get the tiger into battle mode!

To work the tiger you simply pull the moveable leg into alignment with the rigid leg and leg go, this makes the whole top half of the figure spin around, making the arms fly outwards and the bottom half of the tigers mouth move up and down in time, this gives an already mean looking face a real attitude and my son likes to talk trash as the Americans call it, shouting at his John Cena figure (wrestling character), then pretends to kick the crap out of it, yes I do know it will soon stop being cute and border on ASBO!

The toy is very well made and you can see it is made of very sturdy looking plastic, though I am quite sure that the age and sex of the child this was manufactured for would need considering, not many little girls throw their things around quite as much as little boys do!

Price wise this was purchased for around the £9.00 mark, which for these types of figures (from whatever range of merchandise or programme your little one is into) is pretty much the norm across the ranges.

This is actually a really good figure, eye catching and mean looking o boot, the ideal addition to my son's ever increasing figure collection, recommended!

      Thanks for reading x
