Advantages: very well made
Disadvantages: variety a little small
My little boy has a new found subject to explore and that is currently dinosaurs so for his birthday I decided to purchase this bucket of dinosaurs from Argos in the 2 for £15 promotion although they can be purchased separately for £10. For our money we received a fair sized plastic jar with a screw top lid which is great for storage as the dinosaurs are rather small and could be lost easily.
In the box we received 13 dinosaurs many different variations and colours which was good. Also in the box we received 2 tress and 4 trunks to set the scene for the dinosaurs to roam. All toys are made from solid plastic this making them very durable which are just what you need when you have 3 young children playing with them. They have lasted very well even after bumps and scrapes, dinosaurs fighting each other and not to forget Thomas the tank engine crashing into a group of dinosaurs and for the low price of £10 or £7.50 if purchasing as part of the Argos promotion I think this is fantastic.
They do not move or bend or do anything special they are just painted pieces of plastic with not brilliant detailing to them but you can tell they are dinosaurs and my Son can actually tell me the name for each one. They are just the right size for a young child to hold and play with and not to small that I am scared that my 18 month old boy will swallow them. My little boy thinks they are so much more and he has spent hours sitting and playing with the toys which he then returns to there tub and stores them until he next wants to play.
Age recommendation is 3 years plus and these suit my 4 year old boy perfect he loves sitting and making up stories with them and creating different scenes. My little girl who is just turning 3 and my youngest son who is 18 months old also love playing with there big brothers dinosaurs and as there are no pieces that are small enough for them to swallow I let them play although do watch them with them just in case. I find at this age it tends to be let's see how high the dinosaur can bounce rather than any constructive play but they enjoy them just the same.
For the money I paid I was very surprised with the variety and durability of these toys I would definitely recommend these dinosaurs to anyone with a little boy or girl that loves exploring new things without breaking mum and dad's bank balance.
Mt only downside with the product is that they do not have more of a range I went to purchase another bucket thinking they would be different dinosaurs in each pack only to find they are practically the same which was a shame as I would have brought more.
