If you never managed to get an action figure of Victor Meldrew from 'One Foot In The Grave,' then here is your chance to get an action figure of actor Richard Wilson as Doctor Constantine from Doctor Who. This character popped up in an episode called 'The Empty Child' in 2005. I am not quite sure whether he warranted having an action figure made of him, there is not much play value with the character. I mean, what sort of scenarios could you create with him and other characters? Anyway, for collectors he might be more appealing. This action figure stands at about five inches in height so he is in proportion to the other figures in the range. Great care has ... Read the complete review

With the regeneration and revival of the legendary Doctor Who TV series in 2005, it was strikingly obvious that a modern merchandising campaign was going to be rolled out as soon as the first episode had finished airing as new generation of fans of had effectively been captured. In my mind Season 1 starring Christopher Eccleston as the Time Travelling Doctor gave us some good episodes to further the legacy of the Doctor. In the=is Season there were a number of two part stories, the second two-parter of the Season was called 'The Empty Child' and 'The Doctor Dances' and this story, split across two episodes introduced us to Captain Jack Harkness for the first ... I got this for my nephew the christmas just past for £7.99, thinking series 1 seemed like a good place to start. The figure is solid and seems well made overall looking very realistic. Its poseable at the knees and the arms though my nephew was dissapointed he would not stay on his spiderman bicycle. The paint is well done, even the eyes look real which is a place where I find the paintwork on figurines fail. One of the paint problemsis that on mine there was too much on the joints making them stiff and requiring a 'crack' to get started but once moved they became very poseable. Overall the figure is good and my nephew was extremely happy. As of now its still in on piece ... Read the complete review

Series 1 of C21 Doctor Who had some fantastic episodes. A few of them were two-parters, such as the Empty Child / Doctor Dances episodes. These were about the Second World War and a possessed little boy who was 'healed' incorrectly by Nanogenes. This boy passed this onto others around him, including the local doctor (not thee Doctor!), Doctor Constantine. Doctor Constantine is made of a tough rubber with a thinner rubbery coat. He is fairly posable with moving arms, legs and feet, though this does mean he cannot stand and balance on his thin legs too well. The detail on his face is incredible too. With him you get a thin little cane, and an extra head ... Read the complete review

As the father of a five year old who is surely the greatest and most obsessive fan of Doctor Who in the world, this action figure was just one of what now amounts to a collection of almost 100 figures. As with most, if not all, of the Character Options products, it is extremely well sculpted, constructed and painted. The details are also very good (a must for avid Doctor Who fans). The detachable head and walking cane are nice touches, since the former can be replaced with a head on which a gas mask is grafted following Doctor Constantine's infection with nanogenes. Such details allows the creative aspect to run wild, since children can recreate various scenes for the ... Read the complete review
