      wonderful toy

Good old Sea Devil, he first made a showing in the Jon Pertwee era of Doctor Who. The creatures have cropped up since, but are not used that much in the programme, which is a shame, as I think they are one of the more creative baddies.

The Sea Devil is an amphibian like being, living in the oceans. They are foes of the Doctor and work together in groups to bring chaos to civilians. The character was deemed significant enough to be turned into an action figure by Character Options. It was one of the first classic figures produced by this company. I bought mine for about three pounds in a sale, but a normal retail price is about seven pounds.

A very satisfying build, chunky and lumpy with great skin colouring and texturing on the legs really bring this toy to life. I adore the webbed feet and hands, which make him look scaly and slimy. You can move his frog like head too and when you twist it, he seems to look even more inquisitive.

The costume verges on the kinky. Quite why Sea Devils need clothing I do not know. He sports a mesh robe which hangs over his shoulders and reaches the knees. It has holes in it so you can just make out his skin underneath, offset with a belt. A bit raunchy if you ask me...it looks like the kind of the thing a lady would wear in late night adult film!

Sea Devil can be moved at the arms and legs so you can have him in a range of poses. He did not come with any accessories, but I did not mind this as the sheer girth of the figure makes up for that. He has had so much work go into his design that you can see why fans have clammered for this toy. He is possibly in my top five all time favourites, but then I do prefer the classic series. An absolute essential purchase and very well made too.
