The Doctor Who toy universe is vast and growing quickly. Character Options, who produce the toys have already got several figures lined up for this March and April (2010) for when Matt Smith takes over as the Doctor. The older figure range includes the standard characters like the Doctor, Rose and various Daleks, but there is also a deluxe figure range. These figures are larger than the rest of the toys and are somewhat special. Empress Racnoss is part of the deluxe collection and is a curious creature. Woah! At first sight, this product was perhaps the most impressive to date int he excellent Character Options range. My son was (and still is) a massive Doctor Who fan and he wanted to buy this Empress of Racnoss figure as soon as she featured in the Christmas Special. After negotiating a suitable contribution from his pocket money, I purchased the product and that's when the problems started. The legs were unbelievably flimsy, particularly at the screw joints with the main body of the spider.
