God bless Tom Baker, age has not withered the appeal of this wonderful man. Now in his mid seventies, Tom portrayed the Doctor throughout the seventies and held down the role for about seven years. His departure upset many fans, a lot of people still have not got over it! Tom's tenure as the time lord was a long and glorious one and was probably the zenith of the show until Tennant took over and the show soared once again. I had always wanted a really good Fourth Doctor model. I had a Dapol toy from years back which was poor, Tom's outfit was badly desgined and the joints were flimsy. Thank goodness for this figure from Character Options. I waited ages to bag one at an online auction, as they are quite dear in shops. The five inch toy has two heads, one with a hat and one with the normal floppy hair. Tom's sexy broad grin is intact and the hair is lumpy and looks lovely. The outfit is accurate to a tee with the maroon coat looking the business and the scarft dangling to the floor. You can remove the scarf and have him without it, it does get in the way and restrict movement a bit. The trousers look right with a saggy bit round the ankles and a shapely fit on the legs, which reflects the seventies decade. Tom's shoes round off the look and again look smart and chic. You can pose him at all joints, but the trouble is, the head falls off quite a lot! This means playing with him can be hard, so this is really for display purpose only. Tom comes with a sonic screwdriver and this can be gripped in either hand. The overall look of the toy is brilliant and he is one of the most visually interesting of the Doctors. Expect to pay between ten and fifteen pounds for this rare chap.
