I like a bargain and a trip to Toys R Us earlier this year resulted in me bagging this figure set for a mere ninety nine pence. A steal I thought! Sarah Jane is the old companion of Tom Baker's Doctor Who and now has her own show, 'The Sarah Jane Adventures.' I have to be honest, I was not that fussed about owning this figure, but as it was a tie in with Doctor Who I felt I had to add it to the collection.
Sarah is a five inch toy, made from plastic. She looks rather like my mum. The face is mature yet still feminine enough to turn an eye and her lovely brown hair is silky in apperance and cut into a shapely mound. Her facial features have been caught well here and this is the older Sarah, so she is supposed to be about fifty something I would say.
A dubious choice of outfit underneath, a sort of leopard skin print dress, but this is improved by a better and more tasty looking pink jacket. It hugs her superbly and the detailing on the jacket is pretty good. Sarah sports a pair of knee length boots, these are rather kinky and show that she is still in touch with her sensual side which I think is important.
You can pose her at the head, arms and legs and she comes with a little com chip which she grips. I have nearly lost this chip several times because it is so small! Real value is added on with the Star Poet, a light up angel which balances on a stand. If you press the switch on her base she glows in the dark. It does actually work and I was quite impressed with this large extra figure! It really adds value to the set.
A boxed figure will cost no more than a few pounds, I am afraid to say that Sarah Jane is very common. Doctor Who fans would be wise to snap up this bargain while stocks last!
