Like a lot of two year olds, my daughter loves Peppa Pig. She was fortunate enough recently to be passed on some Peppa Pig Toys from her cousin who had outgrown them. One item, that I am very glad that I didn't pay for was this Peppa Pig Classroom Playset, which I have seen retail at £18, though I think you could pick it up for slightly less if you shop around. Peppa Pig toys are not cheap, but they do seem to keep my daughter occupied and encourage interactive play.
This classroom playset includes Madame Gazelle, some classroom tables with accompanying bench chairs, as well as 6 little characters from the series, which alone usually cost around £4 for a pair. So, I suppose you could argue, that when you are getting 6 characters plus Madame Gazelle in this set, that is why you are paying more. There is also a little blackboard that stands by itself. When I saw that the little benches had markings so the characters could be seated properly and stay seated I thought that was a great idea, but it doesn't always work as well as it should.
My daughter loves the Peppa Pig playgroup episodes because she hears her cousins talking about going to preschool and school, plus I work at school, so she is interested in the theme. However, since she received this toy, I find that she doesn;t spend much time playing with the classroom as such, and instead tends to use Madame Gazelle and the other little characters and put them with her other Peppa Pig toys such as the Camper Van and the Castle. A few times I have sat and tried to help her play with the classroom set, but I think part of the issue is that in the episodes, the children are rarely sitting at desks, and instead are usually sitting on the floor, so she isn't used to seeing that to copy and play like that. Also, it is not always that easy to get some of the characters to sit up properly or stay up on the seats. Older children may find it easier, but then again I would say my daughter is fairly good with fine motor skills for her age and she ends up getting frustrated that they fall off the seats. I think they are generally a little on the small and narrow side for the characters.
All in all, I really don't think the £18 that I have seen this playset at, deserves the high price tag. Yes, you get quite a few characters and yes my daughter has lots of fun with the characters but not so much with the classroom, and even if she did, I still think £18 is overpriced, for what is really a plastic playset. Good but not worth the money and I'm very glad I didnt pay it!
My 3 year old daughter got this set for her 3rd birthday although she showed no interest in it to begin with Peppa Pig has started to catch her eye recently and she now loves playing with it. The set seems to sell from £15 to £20 at a number of difference retailers (Argos, Tesco and the usual toy shops) this does seem a little expensive to me.
The set contains a yellow surrounded blackboard with some pretend work on it numbers and letters and the like, 3 little tables and 3 benches for the students to sit on. You get numerous different characters with the playset, Peppa pig, Danny Dog, Zoe Zebra, Candy Cat, Suzy Sheep, Emily Elephant and Madam Gazelle. The tables are dark blue in colour along with the benches and are of sturdy quality which they need to be with my little girl, when you place the characters on the benches they do often fall off and it is a bit of a balancing act to keep them there.
The characters are all very well modelled on what my daughter recognises from the programme, they all have the same outfits on and have moveable arms and legs so they can sit on the seats for school. The blackboard is not so sturdy and the support arm keeps falling off the back meaning it won't stand up which my daughter gets bad tempered with, it is supposed to just clip into two little bits at the back but they just don't hold it in place.
I think my daughter has started playing with this now as she goes to nursery now so can relate to the situation, she plays with this for ages and makes up little stories with it. Nice toy for little Peppa pig fans but would compare the price as it does seem to vary quite greatly.
My son loves peppa pig and received this class room set as a gift for his birthday.
It costs around £20 and can be found in most toy shops as can most of the peppa pifg range as it is so popular. For your £20 you receive 3 desks with 3 chair/benches a chalk board and 7 characters.
The chairs and desks are made out of blue plastic which does not seem to cheap which is good as I had a very bad experience with the peppa pig rocket before.
Each of the chairs have grooves to sit 2 characters on each and because they are molded its very easy to sit the characters on them. Each desk has paper pens and penicils drawn on them to make the detail a little better. To be honest my son only used these for a few days he just had a lack of interest in them. The chalk board also has
the alphabet, numbers and noughts and crosses drawn on it.
The best bit about this toy for me is the fact you get 7 characters with it as these on there own can be very costly. The characters included are Peppa Pig, Candy Cat , Suzy Sheep, Emily Elephant, Zoe Zebra, Danny Dog,and the teacher Madame Gazelle. The characters are modelled well on the TV characters and as these are Peppa's best friends on the program they are easily recognisable and a big hit with my son.The character figures are instantly recognisable and look just like they do on television. They are about an inch and a half tall and also have movable legs and arms with helps them be a little more interesting for little ones imagination. We have found the figures are all compatible with all Peppa pig toys that we own which is growing ever bigger although I said I would never purchase another one of there products after the rocket.
I would recommend these for any Peppa pig fan but I would shop around as they always seem to be on offer somewhere. Even if the classroom itself is not a big hit it is worth it for all the figures you receive with it.Madame Gazelle is exclusive to this set so if your little one is a fan of her this is the only way to buy her.
I bought my son this play set for his birthday this year. At Christmas he had received lots of the bulky Peppa pig items so this was a nice change for him. He didn't have many of the characters so this was a nice way to boost his character collection up as it comes with seven characters. Since February he has grown into the toy and recently he has sat down to play imaginative games with it.
The classroom play set is only small but consists of fourteen pieces. They are all made out of plastic which is quite strong but not suitable for very heavy handed children. The set includes:
Three school desks which are 8cms long, 3 1/2 cms wide and 4cms high. They are a medium shade of blue and have lovely little detail on them. They have two places on them of a pad and a pencil on the desk and to one side a pencil pot. The detail is quite simple but I think it makes it more realistic for your little one when they are playing with them.
Three chair/benches, well they are like benches for two to sit on but with a back on and are the same length as the desks. This is so the character will sit up without falling over. They are two groves at either side of the bench for the little stick legs of the characters to sit in. My son found this easy to get them to sit up.
A black board, with the ABC and numbers written on. It is made of two pieces the plain blackboard with a front leg then a leg attached to the back to make it stand up. It does come off as my son found out but easily attaches back on.
And last the seven characters. You get Madame Gazelle, Peppa pig, Emily Elephant, Suzy Sheep, Candy Cat, Zoe Zebra and Danny Dog which is most of the main playgroup lot. The characters are a little fiddly and aren't the easiest toys to move about. They don't stand up particular well but this doesn't put my son off. The playgroup characters are about 5 1/2cms high and easily fit in the other Peppa pig play sets Madame Gazelle is slightly larger as she is an adult!
As soon as my son opened it he loved it. I must admit he was a bit young for it to start with. The age range is three years plus. He was more excited about all the characters he could use in his train and spaceship but overtime he has started to play with it as a set. I can see my son playing with this for another year or two as he starts to role play.
The set will be great for imaginative play and will last your child a good few years. The only problem I have with Peppa Pig is like most tv programme merchandise your child does eventually become bored with it and believes it's too babyish for them but that's the case with most things.
This set retails at a hefty £17.99 but then again most of the Peppa pig play sets are quite expensive. Amazon is currently selling it for £12.57 which I think is a more reasonable price to pay. Saying that for any child over two and half would get a lot of play out of it and if not with the play set with all the characters they could add to other play sets.
I bought this peppa pig classroom playset recently as a treat for my son because he had been off nursery for a week ill so I thought to cheer him up a bit I would get him this set for him as he loves peppa pig and it cost only £7.99 from a local shop called B and M's which is great value as everywhere else I have seen it has has got considerably more.
The playset comes with 3 desks and 3 sets of chairs which are made to look more realistic by the note pads and pencils which are on the tables and these cannot be removed so there is no risk of choking on them. There are 6 figures which come with this classroom set and included in these are of course peppa pig and a few of her friends, such as suzy sheep, zoe zebra and candy cat. Also included is a chalk board which has the alphabet written on it and there teacher Madame Gazelle.
The age suitability is for 3 years and over probably due to the size of the figures as they are around 1-2inch so are quite small but are compatiable with all of the other peppa pig toys as the figures all seem to be the size so my son uses the figures from this set with the grandad pigs train set.
Overall a great playset which provides great endless fun for young children. A definite must buy for all peppa pig fans as it is a great price for long lasting toys which are a favourite with children.
Another Peppa Pig item bought for my daughter and another disappointment for Mum but not for daughter!
The one thing which hits you straight away as you take this out of the box is how disappointing it loks once it is out of all the fancy packaging. It actually looks like a proper school setting when it is the in the box but once out of it, it just looks like little pieces of plastic.
The set is made up of 4 school desks which open up (although there is nothing inside them) and on the tops of the desks are pencils etc. You also have a school board, 4 sets of benches, 6 characters (inluding Peppa) and the teacher Madame Gazelle.
The school board is the flimsiest piece of this set. The stand for it snapped completely after the first play and then continued to fall off of the baord. The desks and benches are pretty sturdy. It is nice, however, to have a set of all Peppa's friends: Candy Cat, Pedro Pony, Emily Elephant, Suzy Sheep, Danny Dog, Zoe Zebra, Rebecca Rabbit and of course Peppa Pig.
There isn't much to do with the playset to be honest. You do need the other Peppa Pig bits and pieces to make it more fun. Saying that though, my daughter does love the set and is forever playing with it alone or with her other Peppa Pig bits. It really isn't worth the £15.00 price tag some places have this available for.
My daughters are huge Pepp Pig fans and already had lots of the Peppa toys when I got them this classroom playset.
With the majority of the Peppa toys, you only get Peppa and George pig figures, so the main reason I bought this set is that you get all of Peppa's friends with it - Suzy Sheep, Candy Cat, Emily Elephant, Pedro Poney, Danny Dog, Zoe Zebra and Rebecca Rabbit, along with Peppa and the teacher - Madame Gazelle.
The figures are about 2 inches tall (with the exception of Madame Gazelle - she's about 3 inches) and have moveable arms and legs so you can stand them up or sit them down.
The set comes with 4 school desks, each with a moulded pen set, paper and pencils - they can't be removed from the table. There are also four school benches which will each seat 2 of the characters.
Madame Gazelle has a blackboard which is constructed on an A frame so will stand up. The frame comes apart easily though, so I'm forever being asked to fix it by one of my children.
On its own, the play value of this set is limited. But when combined with any of the other Peppa toys it becomes much more interesting as you have all the different characters to play with.
I paid £6.99 for this set in B&M Bargains, which I thought was quite reasonable, but I have seen it priced as high as £15.99, which I think is too much for what it is.
Overall though, any Peppa fans are sure to love this set.
This was the first thing my children recieved Peppa toy related. It was for my daughters 3rd birthday and she loves it.
With it being a present I dont know the cost but I have seen them online for approx £15 which I do think is a bit much for a small toy like this but most Peppa toys are priced the same. If you can get for half price it is definetly worth it!
In the set you get: a blackboard, 3 desks (with pens books etc on) and 3 lots of seats-2 characters to each seat. The seats do have little slots in so each person sits in and I havent had any problems getting them to sit and stay seated! You also get Madam Gazelle and 6 characters them being: Peppa, Emily Elephant, Candy Cat, Danny Dog, Suzie Sheep and Zoe Zebra. (I purchased Rebecca and Pedro seperatly)
All the characters I think are very well made and robust-I find them everywhere and only Madam Gazelles Horns have come off!
The all have bendy legs too so can be used for other Peppa toys. The desks dont get used much here its more the characters that get used but if you can get the set cheap its a bargain as each character can retail at £1+.
Overall I think this is one of the better Peppa Pig sets as you get most people and the accessories are cute.
Bought this for my 18 month old daughter as she is Peppa pig crazy! It is a great little set as it includes all of peppa's best friends as well as the teacher Madame Gazelle and desks and chairs for all of the students. The advised age on this toy is 3 years old - this is because the arms and legs on the characters are very small and could quite easily become dislodged from the toys and become a choking hazard. I am lucky that my daughter is good with toys with small parts but I would definitely not recommend for anyone whose child has a habit for putting things in their mouth. Apart from that this set is a great addition to the other peppa sets available and is a definite must have for any little peppa fan. Only other thing is at full price I feel it is a little expensive but if you can manage to get at a reduced rate like it is at amazon at the moment, th it is a great toy!
My daughter is Peppa Pig mad so was thrilled when she received the Peppa Pig Classroom Playset for christmas.
The playset is packaged in cardboard but has an open fronted box so you can see exactly what you're getting.
The set consists of 7 Peppa Pig character figures, 3 desks, 3 chairs and a chalk board/easel.
The characters include lots of regulars and favourites from the programme - Peppa Pig (of course), Suzy Sheep, Emily Elephant, Zoe Zebra, Danny Dog, Candy Cat and their teacher Madame Gazelle. The character figures are instantly recognisable and look just like they do on television. They are all about an inch and a half tall (except Madame Gazelle who is slightly bigger) and have movable arms and legs to sit them down and put them in different positions. I've also noticed that the figures are the perfect size to use with other toys, such as various dolls houses and cars.
The chairs are blue and plastic. Each chair seats upto 2 characters and might be considered more of a bench than a chair. There are shapes molded into the chairs which allow the characters to easily be seated (all of the figures have the same shaped backsides, so it doesn't matter who sits where). The desks are also blue and plastic. They are the same length as the chairs and have colourful stationary molded on to them (paper, pencils, pens etc). The chalk board can be unfolded to stand up like an easel and has the alphabet, numbers and noughts and crosses drawn on it.
My daughter absolutley loves this little playset and I would say it's one of her favourite toys that she received for christmas. She has played with it for hours so far and has also recently started nursery so has taken a particular interest in her classroom playset. When she isn't playing with the classroom, she uses the characters to play in her other toys. In my opinion it's a great set for encouraging imaginative play.
The Peppa Pig Classroom Playset is recommended for children 3+ (Probably due to small parts such as arms and legs - I don't think it's possible to swallow a whole character!?) and is totally unisex.
The Peppa Pig Classroom Playset is available from many stores including Toys R Us, Boots, Mothercare, John Lewis, Argos, Tesco, Debenhams, Play.com and Amazon.co.uk. It generally costs between £11.99 - £15.99 (I would personally shop around for the lowest price - the playset is great fun for children but is essentially just a few lumps of plastic afterall!).
I recommend for all Peppa Pig fans, pre-schoolers and young children that have just started school or nursery.
Last month I purchased a Peppa Pig classroom set for my daughter at a local store. My daughter is three and just adores Peppa pig.
I paid £6.99 for the toy however I think this was a bargain as it retails as £12.99 in other stores.
The set consists of three small plastic desks, three chairs, six pupils (including Peppa pig), a teacher and the teacher's easel. All the parts are small and plastic.
At first glance I was very disappointed with the toy. It comes in a nice bright, exciting box but when the pieces are removed it really does not look anything.
My daughter however just loves it. She has had hours of fun playing and schools and using her imagination with the toy.
My overall conclusion is, if the set was not Peppa Pig but unknown characters it would sell in the Pound Shop (buy one get one free) and only sells at a higher price due to it being Peppa. But in its defence, my daughter loves, which after all is the main aim.
Peppa pig class room play set
I brought this classroom play set for my little girl for Christmas she was 4 at the time. I thought with her love of peppa pig combined with her love for playing schools would make this the perfect present for her, and I was right she loves it.
The price of the class room set is around £15 but I brought I on a the boots 3 for 2 offer and also got boots points on it so properly only paid around £9 for it which is a bargain.
The play set consists of
4 double desk with accessories on them and with a bench for desk, the seat of the bench has groves in the so the figures sit on them nicely.
You get a free standing black board that has the alphabet and some numbers on it. My daughter does find it quite hard to get this to stand up by its self.
The figures you get are Madame Gazelle the teacher, Peppa Pig, Rebecca Rabbit, Zoe Zebra, Candy Cat, Suzy Sheep, Pedro Pony, Emily Elephant and Danny Dog.
The class room set is bright and colourful and my daughter uses all the characters that comes with this set with all the other peppa pig things, the house, camper van and park, they all mix together nicely.
From all the peppa pig things I have brought my daughter this is the one they use the most and it also the cheapest item I have brought so I am on to a winner both ways
I purchased this item from Boots at Christmas as part of their regular yearly 3 for 2 promotion. I bought it along with several other Peppa Pig items which all cost around the same value so using the 3 for 2 option it enabled me to buy a variety of Peppa Pig toys for a better value then usual. The recommended retail price for this item is £14.99 which is good value given the amount of characters you get with it, but after taking advantage of the promotion, it worked out that I paid approximately £10 for this making it extremely good value for money.
This playset is based on Peppa Pig and her friends in the classroom at school. It comes complete with easel, seating and desks along with their teacher Madame Gazelle. All of Peppas friends are also provided including Danny Dog, Emily Elephant, Susie Sheep, Zoe Zebra, Pedro Pony and Candy Cat.
My daughter loves this toy, though I do have concerns that the characters are very small, so I have to make sure that she only plays with this when her little brother is asleep so that they are out of his reach as he is currently in the stage of putting everything he can find in his mouth, so I make sure that these are always put away out of his reach. In addition, due to the size I can imagine that these are probably very easy to use. I think if these had been in regular use in my household that the majority of these characters would have gone missing by now, but as the set has only been used during supervised play then I have managed to keep the set complete so far.
The product is made up of very bright colours which grasped my daughters attention immediately. She has now managed to learn all the characters names and she likes to tell me their names and their colours whilst playing with them which she finds to be great fun.
Overall this is a great toy, which I highly recommended. It is one of the better Peppa Pig toys from the range and I shall be purchasing this again this year for my niece.
This was one of the many gifts my daughter recieved for christmas, she had put it on her list to santa as she is peppa pig mad and has collected quite a few of the other accessories in the peppa pig collection, she has the deluxe house and the train but the classroom set has quite a lot of her favourite characters in it from the popular childrens tv series, so she was over the moon to recieve this also.
The pack contains peppa pig and all her school friends, Emilly elephant, Suzy sheep, Danny dog, Rebbecca rabit etc etc and her teacher miss gazell, it also has six blue desks with small books and pen pots on them and six blue benches with grooves on the seat where the characters legs go which makes it easier for them to sit down, it also a yellow chalk board with the alphabet, numbers and naughts and crosses written on it.
Each of the characters legs move back and forth to enable them to sit down either on the benches or the floor and their arms move slightly too.
My daughter has not stopped playing with this, it has certainly been a very good purchase and in my opinion good value at £14.99 from argos. The set is aimed at 3 years and over.
My daugher puts all the collection she has together and copies the stories which she has seen on the tv.
This set is great for role play as my daughter has not long started school she can play out all her experiences from her own school.
The set has been very well made and is brightly coloured and I think it is a delightfull and cheerfull little set for both boys and girls, as with all the peppa pig toys.
I would recommend this to any peppa pig fan wondering whether to get this aswell, a really lovely set and I cannot say anything bad about it at all, hope your child enjoys this as much as mine.
Join Peppa and all her class mates for a day in school! The Peppa Pig Classroom Playset comes complete with desks and chair, a chalkboard, 8 of Peppa's class mates and their teacher Ms Gazelle.
