The success of the newer series of Doctor Who led to the spin off show Torchwood, which stars American hunk John Barrowman. Although Barrowman is a huge draw, the show also pulls in viewers thanks to the exciting storylines and slightly more adult aroma to it. There are parallels with Doctor Who, in that stories and characters overlap, but the programme also stands up well on its own merits.
Alongisde Barrowman's leading role, one of the regular characters is Gwen Cooper. Toy maker Character Options have made a rather pleasing replica of the lady and it forms part of their expansive line up. There are close to one hundred action figures in the range and Gwen will no doubt delight fans of both shows.
Her face has been painstakingly crafted to a tee and the expressive and demure feminine features have been caught very well. I love the subtle lips and delicate eyes which are true to form. The hair is given a textured yet silky look and flows brilliantly over her shoulders in a flowing motion.
The bodywork continues in the same fashion, with a well cut jacket, pulled tightly across her chest, with some neat stitching around the centre and waist area. Her tight jacket fits snugly and even on the arms, the toymakers have successfully captured her slender look.
A bright red jersey is offset with startlingly sexy black leggings with hug her really well. They could have made her look quite dowdy, but the real femininity of the girl has been portrayed with understated brilliance.
She comes with a blaster of sorts and will cost up to five pounds to buy as new. A good figure for play value given that she is a main character and a worthy addition to the line up!
