      Handy Manny Figure set

Handy Manny is one of our favourite characters on the Disney channel and my little girl and I love to watch it together. I know its not a very girly show but then why should we obey social stereotypes anyway and just watch programmes about princesses or fairies.

Manny is the local repairman who lives in a place called Sheeprock hills and fixes anything the locals need him to fix. Helping him with his fix it jobs are his tool box of talking tools, I know, quite surreal but all the locals seem to take it as normal that they are talking to a screwdriver with a mouth!

I initially started watching Handy Manny because I had heard that they speak Spanish in the television show and I want my little girl to eventually learn this language so I thought it would be a good start. They do say things in Spanish like counting numbers, saying hello/goodbye and the odd phrase etc so it is good to watch.

This set from Disney is great. We have a number of their figurines and they are always well made and fun to play with. This set includes Manny himself and then all the tools. I absolutely love the name of the tools. They are called Dusty, Stretch, Squeeze, Felipe, Pat, Turner and Rusty.

Turner and Felipe are screwdrivers, turner is clever because you need to turn a screwdriver. Dusty is a saw and so called because he gets dusty when sawing wood. Stretch is a tape measure because he needs to stretch himself out to measure things. So you see, the names are really quite clever.

Each figure measures about 3" so they are fairly small but big enough for little hands to play with. Disney say that they are for 3 years plus but I feel quite secure giving them to my two year old even though we bought them for my newborn son as they are technically boys toys.

The figures are made of a strong hard plastic so they are hard wearing and do not break which is great. They look exactly like the cartoon figures on the television so I like that they are proper looking.

The set costs £10 which I think is good value and is a set I recommend for all Manny fans.
