“ Manufacturer: Disney / Age: 3 Years+ „
My daughter loves little figures of different cartoon characters especially the little sets of figures you can get from the Disney Story. However my Mum picked this up for my daughter from Tesco for £5.00. These are usually at least £10 in the Disney Store. The Disney Story does sell different ones - Disney Princess, Toy Story, Cars and so on but Tesco only had this Pixar collection set.
The set comes in a big plastic box with all the figures standing up. The box has Disney Pixar on it in the Disney and Pixar fonts.
There are 6 different figures in this set, all from different Pixar movies. The 6 characters are Mike (Monsters Inc), Sully (Monsters Inc), Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story), Woody (Toy Story) and Mr Incredible (the Incredibles) and one of the bad guys from The Incredibles whose name I don't know.
The figures are all made from durable plastic which is similar to rubber but not actually rubber if that makes sense. All of them are different heights and sizes. Each figure has been made really well. The likenesses to the characters from the films are outstanding and very impressive. All the colours on each of the characters are also correct and match perfectly. Children who have seen these films will instantly recognise the characters.
All of the figures stand up on their own as they are attached to little circular bases. My daughter regularly plays with these figures. She is always making little stories up with them and re-creating scenes from the films they have been in as well as incorporating them into new scenes which is funny to watch. They are never far from her side and when she goes to bed they always have to be lined up where she can see them her bedside table.
One of the best things about these figures is that there are no little parts which can be pulled off by children. The figures are suitable for children from the age of 3 and up.
I really recommend these toys for kids who love Disney Pixar and playing with figures. Definately have a look around for these figures as the price in the Disney and Amazon is a bit off the mark now. You can get them a fair bit cheaper.
I bought this set for my son for his Christmas as he loves playing with small figures and loves toy story and monsters inc so thought he would like this. There were alternative versions of this pack in the Disney store but these cost around £10 where as I got this set for £2.99 out of a shop in my local area called instore.
There are 6 different figures in the pack which are all very robust as they are made from rubber. They all vary in height from around 2inches to 4/5 inches. The smallest being mike and the largest being Sully both from Monsters inc. The detail which has been put into each figure is great especially the buzz light year from toy story and they all look exactly like they do in the films so children will definitely know who each figure is if they have seen the films. My son had not seen 'The Incredibles' before he had got this pack so he wasn't sure who they were so we bought the film for him to watch and as soon as he seen it he knew who they were straight away.
All figures stand up well as there is a base on most of them apart from Sully and buzz and are of a good size for children to play with. My son keeps his on a shelf and plays with them regularly and also takes one or two of them to bed with him each night. This set was a great buy as they will last for a while because they are so sturdy and my son loves playing with them and re-enacting scenes from all the films and using his imagination.
First thing's first. These are pretty cool, I have to say. The Disney Pixar Figurine Set comes with a set of 6 figurines, from 3 of the most popular Pixar films: Monsters, Inc (Mike and Sulley), the Incredibles (Mr Incredible and Syndrome), and everyone's favourite Toy Story (Buzz and Woody).
The figures are of really good make, and look exactly like their 3D animated counterparts do. They stand each somewhere between two and three inches tall, making them not incredibly big at all. The Mike Wazowski one is the smallest, and is heavily contrasted by the lumbering mass of Sulley behind him.
They have expressions which are, more or less, what you expect. Mike grins in his usual way, waving. Sulley stands tall and has his top scare face on. Mr Incredbile stands, ready for a fight while Syndrome poses, fist clenched like any supervillain should. Buzz stands heroically, his prosthetic wings spread and Woody waves a bit gormlessly.
The figures are small, sure, but look great together and are quick to catch your eye. The vibrant colours of the paints and the cartoonish poses look good and brighten whatever area you put them. I had them in front of my Pixar DVDs for some time. The attention to detail on each is really good, especially the fur on Sulley and all the little buttons and things on Buzz Lightyear's space suit.
I haven't been able to find any others like this, though, and I don't think Pixar have released another set. It would be really good if they did though as these are quality, durable figurines and are really well made.
They stand flat so you can place them on any surface, pretty much be it a shelf, a book or a table or desk. Wherever they go they're sure to brighten the place up. A perfect gift for the animation lover
I brought this set of plastic Disney Pixar figures from a cheap shop in Birmingham last year, they was only £2.99 so I don't know where Amazon get off in charging £15.99 for them!
For your money you get 6 characters from the Disney Pixar films, they have picked the characters good so that most kids will know them even though they're from the early Pixar films and there have been a few new films made since then.
You get Mike and Sully out of Monsters Inc, Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story and Mr Incredible and one of the bad guys from The Incredibles. I know the bad guy but don't know his name even though I'm sure it told me on the box! lol
The figures aren't all that big but they're all quite bulky so there's not much chance of them getting lost. Sully is the biggest and he is about 4 ins tall and Mike is the smallest at about 2 1/2 ins. The rest of them are sort of inbetween these sizes but they all look in good proportion to each other and look wicked all posed together on a shelf.
They are made of a thick rubbery plastic that feels lovely and shiny to touch, the figures are all lovely and bright so that they will appeal to kids and also they are coloured so that they look exactly like the characters in the films. They're proper well made with no bits that can be pulled off or anything, because of them being made out of plastic it means the figures can be played with without worrying about breaking or damaging them. Last year I brought my mates son a set of Disney Cars figures for his birthday but when he opened them I realised they was breakable so he can't play with them, they look wicked on the shelf in his bedroom but that's not the point because kids want toys not ornaments!
These figures are suitable from age 3 but I think that's mainly because of how small Mike is, he's the only one that could be a bit dangerous for little kids but that's only because they could put him in their mouths more easy than the rest of them.
My sister doesn't really play with these even though they've been put on a shelf in her room that is easily in reach. They all stand up well and don't wobble about or anything like that so I'm not quite sure why she doesn't want to play with them more. Sometimes she'll put one of them in her toy car and play with them like that but when I got them I thought she'd be lining them up and playing games with the different characters.
That could be because of them being stuck in one position, she likes toys and dolls where she can move the arms and stuff so I suppose in that way these ones are a bit boring.
Recommended.... they look wicked so if you can get them cheap like I did then they're deffo worth buying, but be prepared to just use them as ornaments like we have!
This Disney Pixar Figurine Set varies quite drastically in price depending on where you buy it from. The daughter saw it in Matalan for around £6 or £7, but then later picked it up from Pound Stretcher for the bargain price of £3.99. This is also available from Amazon Marketplace sellers from £5.98 online or from lots of different ebay sellers for between £6 and £15 (some chancers like to go over the top with the mark-ups clearly).
Inside the smart packaging there are six different plastic figures from popular Disney Pixar films. There's Sully and Mike from the Monsters Inc. film, Woody and Buzz from Toy Story, and two of the guys (whose names I unfortunately just don't know!) from The Incredibles. Their all very boyish films which most young lads will be familiar with, and probably have enjoyed at some point in time.
The figures are all extremely detailed, as you'd expect from an official Disney product. There are even tiny little checks on Woody's shirt, and the characters all like very alike to their film counterparts. Children will have hours of fun using these mini dopple gangers to recreate their favourite scenes, and hopefully make up a few of their own too. These toys are a great way of getting TV addicts to get up off the sofa and get moving around and using their imagination I think.
What really impressed me with these is the quality of them. They look and feel expensive, despite the fact that they're very reasonably priced. They've got a very solid feel to them, and all the little moulded accessories feel really thick and durable, despite being actually quite small and highly detailed too. Disney products always come at a slightly higher than usual price, but in this case it's a price that's well worth paying.
