Another hit by Fisher Price! So what do you do? Your 4 year old has suddenly "got into" super-heroes and all that goes with them. A lot of the super-hero toys that he would like are not really suitable due to lots of small parts, and being badly made (of course meaning a very limited life in the hands of a 4 year old!) Fisher Price Rescue Heroes are the perfect solution. Sturdy and well made in quality chunky plastic. You can a variety of these "action" guys (and girls!) along with an array of vehicles in which they can perform their "rescues". Each figure comes with a tool/accessory relevant to their trade, for example our "construction guy" has a digging claw. All the accessories are movable as are the figures themselves. There are some deluxe heroes who come with larger accessories, like the dog handler and his dog, who not only moves but makes a noise too. The accessories slot into the heroes backs and are fully interchangeable with all the other figures (great for group rescues eh?). At this point I would just like to say checkout the size of these guys feet - they are HUGE! Vehicle-wise we have a rather cool police motorbike complete with an in-built ramming tool to knock out those baddies! and a fantastic helicopter with moving blades and winch mechanism. Just make sure you read the box before you buy as not all vehicles come complete with a rescue hero - the motorbike did, but the helicopter didn't. You can also get the command centre - but at £40 this does seem rather expensive for what it is. The individual figures cost about £8 each with the deluxe models costing approximately £12. OK this might be more than some of the more "flimsy" alternatives, but these toys are built to last so it is money well spent. You can get them from most good toy retailers like Toys R Us, Woolworth's and Argos. Now available are "Talking Heroes" , bu
t I am quite happy with the silent type! Besides it is so cute when my 4 year old does the voices - he really gets into character! So for a natural progression from the Fisher Price toddler toys - try Rescue Heroes. All the same quality but just a bit more grown up!
