      super

It's one of those droids that you will look at and think hmm, have I seen him before or haven't I? CZ4 is part of the CZ droid series and this chap made his appearance in the film 'Return Of The Jedi' in 1983. A brief encounter with C3PO was his moment onscreen. He can be seen in a dingy backroom at Jabba The Hutt's palace, looking menacing. Rumour has it that CZ4 perished when Jabba's sailbarge was destroyed.

Despite launching an expansive toy range in the eighties, there was never a CZ4 figure made by Kenner. The closest we got was the torture droid 8D8, so Hasbro's action figure is a very welcome addition to the line up.

The figure has echoes of 4 Lom and also a Sandperson and he does not look that droid-like on initial inspection. His face looks wonderful though, with subterranean like features and blistering eyes which scream out at you. Some intricate shading on the head adds to the charm of the head design.

As we progress down his body, his torso is very interesting, with plating covering his chest and some excellent articulation all over. The same pattern continues on the arms. Beneath this plating he has a metallic grey bodywork, which gives him more of an authentic droid appearance.

Some battle scarring on the legs and heels completes a very enchanting toy. He is fully poseable and also comes with a collectible coin. The figure is available in the UK and you are likely to pay about five pounds to buy new as boxed.

I would definitely have him raging a battle with C3PO in the torture room, or maybe have him meeting fellow droids, IG88 and 8D8 for a get together! A super figure, well worth buying.
