Star Wars fans must have a mammoth task keeping up with all of the action figures on sale now. There are literally thousands. If we include the Kenner range, the Hasbro remakes and even the Lego series, then within these brands, there are different versions of each figure. For some fans, it is a costly hobby and completists will never be able to finish collections, as the Star Wars toy market is over saturated.

One of the pleasing figures of the newer range is the Battle Droid. A Battle Droid is any droid which is designed for combat. They were particularly prominent during the Clone Wars.

This fellow is a very good replica thanks to an intricate body design. There is a pleasing amount of wear and tear on his chest which suggests he has been through the wars. The droid looks weathered and authentic. He bears a certain likeness to some of out more familiar Star Wars droids. His head and legs are not dissimilar to those seen on IG88 or 8DT; spindly and robotic.

The face is very well crafted, with an almost beak shaped tip and superb attention to colouring. The droid has flecks of green and gold used on him which keeps him looking realistic. He can be posed in a variety of positions, thanks to movable limbs. Arms, legs and chest will allow movement, meaning you can create exciting battle scenarios.

He comes with a couple of excellent weapons, which can be gripped in his hands, though the larger rifle does make it hard for him to balance, so is best left to his side. The Battle Droid stands at a few inches in height and is in proportion to the other figures in this Hasbro range. A great toy for avid fans and a pleasing display piece.
