The Clone Wars was a 3D animated film set between episodes two and three of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Although it was originally a series of 2D animated shorts (done incredibly stylishly by creator of Samurai Jack Genndy Tartakovsky) the Clone Wars franchise expanded when it was released into a film and into another animated show, and from there came all the merchandising. Although a lot of fans consider it even worse than the prequel trilogy, it seems to have done wonders introducing a whole new generation to the world of Star Wars.
This action figure is of General Obi Wan Kenobi - Anakin's mentor and one of the key figures and most powerful Jedi in the Star Wars universe. The model is accurate in representing Obi-Wan's appearance in the film and there's been a good amount of work put into both the face and the body. His face has been made so his expression is a good mix between concentration and fierceness.
He wears his Jedi robes over the top of Clone armour. He has a removable Clone Trooper helmet, jetpack (which fires projectiles at whoever you want to annoy) and a lightsaber, all of which look authentic (at least, for the film), except for possibly the missile which has that classic action figure accessory look about it.
Overall, a great model, but better for the people who like the Clone Wars series. Probably not for the older Star Wars fans.
Mighty and wise Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi is truly an important person in Star Wars universe. He played a significant role in the fate of the Galaxy, so his presence in any action figure series is simply a must. This one is based on Clone Wars show.
The figure has ten points of articulation: head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist and legs. This amount appears to be enough, but a natural question arises: where is knee articulation? Without it Obi-Wan is able only to stand. Forget about sophisticated poses. Obi-Wan is equipped with his well-known blue lightsaber, a jet backpack and a Clone Trooper helmet. The helmet is well done, but it... doesn't fit on Kenobi's head! Instead, you have to remove figure's head entirely, and then place the helmet on. I think they implement it because of Kenobi's rich hairstyle. However, for me it is a very bad idea. A classic way is much better. The saber fits tightly into hand.
The dress is a nice combination of regular Clone armour and Jedi apparel. Like always in Hasbro toys, the paint application is cleanly applied and very detailed. Especially the face is fine. Nevertheless remember that Kenobi's appearance comes from animated Clone Wars, not from original films. I have only one reservation to the performance: the bulky jetpack could be better.
It is not a terrible toy but to be honest: there are better options of Obi-Wan Kenobi figures on the market today.
I think this figure shows a whole new side to star wars, I mean amongst the fighting and lightsabers, there's also the characters. I believe these are rather influential and encourage a different generation of fans to the film. The packaging is well designed, and the plastic forming the figures is firm and steady providing hours of amusment for those willing to play. I especially like the broad shoulders and removable helmet supplying even more satisfaction. Therefore to conclude this Hasbro Star Wars Clone Wars Basic Figure Obi-Wan Kenobi; All I have to say is well done to all the producers, I applaud your efforts and would highly recomend this to anybody who likes a bit of Star Wars.
Thank you for all the endless fun you have supplied us with and I hope you will continue to provide it.
This product is worth the money and is much enjoyable.
The new Star Wars Animated Clone Wars Movie (and TV Series) has added yet more great storylines, locations, characters and vehicles to the ever-expanding Star Wars Universe. It has also introduced a whole new generation of younger fans to that Galaxy far, far away .....
Hasbro has been producing a wide range of Star Wars products for many years [from kids toys to adult collectables] and they have pulled out all the stops for the Animated Clone Wars range. Everything from the simple [but effective] packaging design to the quality of the toys themselves has been exremely well thought out and in my opinion the Clone Wars toys are some of Hasbro's finest to date.
The characters in the traditional 3.75" range look awesome ... and Obi Wan Kenobi is a fine example of a well designed action figure.
Obi Wan Kenobi Action Figure (Clone Wars)
Obi Wan Kenobi comes in his Clone Wars outfit ... a subtle mix of Jedi Robes and Clone Trooper Battle Armour. He also comes with an interchangable head (a choice between his face and a helmet) a rocket firing jetpack and of course his trusty Lightsaber !!! As a General during the Clone Wars Obi Wan was highly respected and this action figure quite accurately portrays the nobility, heroism and determination of one of the Star Wars Saga's most well loved characters.
This action figure (as well as the other figures in the Clone Wars range) are very well designed, made and packaged and come with a range of great accessories.
However, retailing at an average of £8 the new Clone Wars figures are not cheap either ... and for younger children wanting to re-create the action and excitement of the Clone Wars the figures themselves could prove costly. Of course for some adult collectors the figure would be kept mint on a card but for "play" purposes I would suggest tracking down figures loose on sites such as eBay !!!

I grew up with Star Wars so it was always a pleasure to play with the action figures and make my own scenes and scenarios. One of my preferred scenes was Obi Wan romancing Leia while being guarded by the loveable Chewbacca. I was upset this was never realised in the movies so using the toys to create these moments seemed like a super idea.
Hasbro have developed this rather fine Obi Wan figure, modelled on the newer films. He is roguishly handsome and a good size to play with. One never likes the figures to be too big incase you confuse them for a doll!
It would be a good toy for children and also for collectors and the packaging is clean and crisp and so it would good displayed on a shelf. Star Wars toys tend to collect in value so I would advise leaving him boxed if you want to make your money go further
Step into The Clone Wars animated world with this articulated action figure based on the anime character. With broad shoulders and the look of deliberation, this figure comes with a lightsaber, removable helmet and a firing jet backpack. Aim the projectile at your target and stage your own galactic battles.
