This is an unusual two pack of Star Wars figures because both of the figures are very peculiar. Ahsoka Tano and R3 S6 go together hand in hand, the latter being the droid and the former being his Padawan friend. You can buy them as a set for about five pounds in the 'Galactic Heroes' range. The toy appeals to me as a Star Wars fan but is also going to attract the younger audience because the figures have been made with a cartoonish allure about them.
Each toy is about an inch or so in height and ideal for putting into the pocket. The lack of movement on the toys is going to restrict the play value, but this is not a major problem, as they have made in a sturdy fashion with firm joints and a lovely chunky plastic feel.
The Tano toy boasts impressive colours and a superb headpiece which echoes the real character's. The oversized legs and feet give it a gimmicky look and the costume does look quite twee. I feel the lips also make the character look rather camp!
The droid comes off a little better with a suave looking metallic finish. The blacks have been used very well here, though I feel a smattering more gold would have topped off the colour scheme nicely. I was glad that he was made with all his legs intact and the bulky frame of the droid stands out very well. He would made for an ideal friend for R2D2 and R5D4.
The packaging is pretty good, you can see the figures presented and this is good for collectors who like to be able to observe the toys should they choose to keep them boxed. A fun and unusual set of toys for the collector and for anyone who likes Star Wars.
