Boba Fett was a warrior and bounty hunter - the best and the most expensive in the known Galaxy. Fett's dialogue in "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" consists of only 29 words. Despite it, he became famous amongst fans, resulting in his frequent appearances in many materials from so called Expanded Universe. He is not a Jedi, but for sure the Force is with him!
Like the Clone Troopers figures for example, Boba is very versatile. 14 joints (head, shoulders, elbows, arms, waist, knees, legs and ankles) allow you to pose the figure in many positions - what is a must in demanding bounty hunter jobs. The targets can be taken away with included Blaster Rifle or small Blaster. The Rifle is designated to the right hand, the Blaster to the left one. And they fit quite well. A good message to very old Star Wars action figures owners: the helmet is removable and you can see the face! As always, the jet pack can be plugged into a hole on the back and the cape (very nice!) is not detachable. The model is well painted with solicitude. Details like scuffs on the parts of armour make every fan happy. Boba's colours are based on his appearance from the original Star Wars films. There are standard Hasbro peg holes in the feet, but Boba is able to stand without any additional help.
This Boba Fett action figure comes from 2009 (the Legacy Collection) and, unfortunately, is very similar to the previous Fett model from 2007 (a part of The Anniversary Collection) - and this is the main disadvantage of the toy. If you have some other version of the Bounty Hunter, you really don't need a newer, in fact repainted version of it.
There are already a few Boba Fett figures lurking in the Star wars galaxy. I still favour the vintage one, which is a pretty decent recreation of the sly bounty hunter. Boba Fett made his debut in 'The Empire Strikes Back' and struck a chord with fans. I am not sure why he became so popular, but the character is one of the most loved of the bad guys in all of the Star Wars films. I am guessing it is his mysterious aura and helmet which captivates a lot of people.
The Legacy Boba Fett is a decent replica, with a sturdy frame and shapely torso displaying his body armour. Fett wears a lot of plating, which helps him for when he goes into battle. He has the look of someone who has been through the wars, as the suit looks bashed and dented. There is a great bit of mottling to his green plating on the chest area.
Fett wears a grey suit underneath, which is rather like a paint-balling suit. It is not that fashionable, but is practical. The grey colours are a good match and give him a rugged charm. On his legs, there are neat little bands which help offset the grey. The talking point is the head through, with that viser on his helmet shrouding him in years of mystery and intrigue. Great detailing and colour work here, capturing his greens.
On the reverse of the toy, Boba wars his trusty jet pack which has launchers inside, so he can fire off rockets. The figure also comes with a decent blaster which he can grip. This is a good addition to the toy collection and as the figure is fully poseable, you can stage any scenario you wish. I would have him falling into the Salaac pit! Expect to pay around five pounds for this nasty chap.
Another great offering to Fett fans from Hasbro. This is a repaint of the Boba Fett that was released in The Fett Legacy Evolutions pack from 2007 that also included Jango Fett and Mandalore. This version contains multiple points of articulation and is loaded with accessories including a jet pack, blaster pistol and sawed-off blaster rifle. This particular Boba Fett is also the first of the basic carded Boba Fett figures in history to have a removable helmet and is only the second one overall. All in all, with an excellent paint job that surpasses previous versions, lots of articulation and accessories, this is The Fett to Get! Do not pass this one up! Will make a great gift for that special Star Wars fan in your life! Newly released, this Legacy Collection Boba Fett should be hitting store shelves just in time for the Holiday 2009 season!
