      a solid set

Now here is a Star Wars set that is going to delight fans. Imagine being able to buy five of the best characters in one deluxe package. The pack might cost twenty five pounds, but considering individual figures can cost about eight pounds each, this seems like a good value set to me.

So who have we got in the set. Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. There is no arguing that these are all key players in the Star Wars films, a nice balance of good and evil too. I am glad Boba Fett was included, as he is the most popular bounty hunter and more fun than say C3PO!

Each figure is about five inches in height and comes with a weapon. There are a lot of lightsabres here, excepting Fett who is not a Jedi. As with all Hasbro toys, articulation and detail play a crucial role. Ben's cloak has been handled superbly with a really deluxe look and Vader's cloak also looks the part with superb flourish and movement to it. In this set, Ben Kenobi comes off the best as he shows the most improvement over the original Kenner figure. A more realistic face and much bulkier frame enhance Ben's look.

Luke is pleasing, though I would have rather had the Tatooine fatigues. Darth Maul looks bold and menacing, like a tiger in leather and Vader as usual is black, commanding and fierce. There is a good level of design work to Vader's torso, which brings the figure to life. Boba has bulked out too with added definition on the chest and back area this time around.

Each toy can be posed fully at head, arms and legs allowing poses to be caught from every angle. Weapons can be detached or held in either hand. On the downside, the presentation box lacks merit and could have had a backdrop or something to give it an edge. Collectors playing a good price would need that incentive to buy them as a set and this would have been a good pay off.
