This is an unusual little Star Wars toy, the Star Wars Starkiller Hero is based on a McQuarre concept and was fashioned into an action figure for the thirtieth Star Wars anniversary. You might like to say this toy is part of the expanded Star Wars universe. The trouble is, it is now so expanded, it is hard to keep up with the flow of action figures. With the old Kenner toys, newer Hasbro remakes, then spin offs from the Clone Wars and celebration figures, collectors are faced with a burden of trying to keep up with Lucas' non stop toy empire.
For these reasons, Starkiller is not really an essential buy. He did not feature in the original films and is what I would call dressage for the toy market. Designed more for the people who make the toys than for collectors. Without being scathing, this figure was not really needed. Despite my concerns, he has been moulded well. A youthful face calls to mind Luke Skywalker, with similar blonde hair. A nubile looking body with a great outfit follows suit. The colours of purple and browns compliment each other other very well.
The figure is slender on the arms and legs and wears excellent boots which ride so very high. He can be posed at all joints allowing various poses to be created. He comes with a range of accessories including the blue lightsabre. Fans might be more intrigued by the collectible coin which adds value to the package. Price wise you will be looking at five to seven pounds for a boxed figure. I don't think he is worth getting to be fair, because there are so many other superb aliens who are much more exciting, but if you have the money then of course he would be another welcome addition!
