“ Brand: Horrid Henry / Age: 4 Years+ „
I recently bought this pack of horrid henry figures for my son as a little surprise for him as he loves watching horrid henry on citv and I had never seen any of these toys before so I could not resist getting them especially when a looked at the price and they were only £2.99!
The packs vary in styles but the one which we got is the one which is pictured. The pack contains 6 different figures two of which are of henry. One of them is standing to the typical horrid henry scream and the other is holding what I think is a worm and licking his lips! There is also a figure of perfect peter who is henry's younger brother and he is standing with his hands clasped behind his back and looking all innocent. The other boy figure is of rude ralph who is henry's best friend and is posing in his usual stance with his hands clenched in fists with a angry scowl on his face. The last two figures are of moody Margaret who is henry's worst enemy and is standing with her hands on her hips and miss battle-axe who is his class teacher and has a stern glare with her arms folded. All figures are on blue bases which makes it easy for them to stand up properly.
A great price for sturdy and durable figures as they are all made from rubber which will last and not break.
Our grandson is mad about Horrid Henry and has the complete first series on DVD. He still watches it on CITV despite this though! He's particularly fond of Miss Battleaxe for some reason, so I had to get him this set when I saw that she was included along with his other favourite characters.
The full retail price is £9.99 for this set, and I definitely do not recommend it at that ridiculous price. These are extremely small plastic figures which although detailed, have no working parts on them! They're stood on purple 'splat' bases too, so it's not like you can use them to play games with or anything. Fortunately, Tesco Direct cleared them out at £2.49 a pack - and at that price I thought we got a decent deal.
The characters included are two Horrid Henries in different poses, a Rude Ralph, a Moody Margaret, a Perfect Peter and a Miss Battleaxe. Whether or not these are the absolute favourite characters for most children I don't know, but they are definitely the favourites with the grandson. He instantly recognised who all of the characters, which is no mean feat when you're autistic, and I think that says a lot about the quality of the details.
For a few quid I recommend these for a Horrid Henry fan, but for any more I think you're getting ripped off. The grandson loves these, but they don't actually DO anything. They don't move and they have stands on, so they're not intended as action figures. They're highly detailed and great for ornamental use though. Three stars from me due to the retail price.
