Last year for my twin boys 4th birthday most of their presents were dinosaur themed as they were, at the time dinosaur crazy, and now a year on they are still the same.
There are many types of dinosaur figures you can buy in varying quality - some cheap and some quite expensive and my boys received both of these. One of their many dinosaur sets they received were quite expensive ones I bought.
I bought these from Amazon for just over £20 for a box of just 5 dinosaur figures - these being Learning Resources Jumbo Dinosaurs. The reason I bought these is I noticed in a playgroup they were attending that these particular ones were used - so assumed they were of good, decent quality and perfectly safe for young children as well as a good 'learning resource' hence why a playgroup would be using them.
The dinosaurs come packaged in a seperate clear plastic bag each inside a large cardboard box with the dinosaurs pictured on the front so no mistaking what was inside.
Now just over £20 for a set of 5 figures may sound like a lot of money but these are extremely good quality, durable figures and very safe for children too - they are an impressive size, although they are named 'jumbo' dinosaurs I wasn't expecting them to be so big.
Despite the dinosaur's size they are quite lightweight, not too heavy and bulky for little hands yet at the same time really good quality and very robust too.
It is clear what type of dinosaur each of these are, even though they are fairly colourful they are not cheaply or brightly coloured to confuse little ones who are genuinely intrerested in types of dinosaurs and their history either. The 5 dinosaur figures include a Triceratops, T-Rex, Brachiosaurus, Raptor and a Stegosaurus.
Despite a lot of rough play and bashing them about these dinosaurs are still in immaculate condition now a year down the line, still just as easily identifiable as they were when they were first taken out of the box. Imagination is still greatly used when my boys play with them, if not more now they have more to say for themselves at the age of 5 lol.
Although quite pricey I would certainly reccomend these dinosaurs for any little dinosaur fan, they are fantastic quality and provide plenty of imaginative historic fun.
