      superb figure

What is a Mer Man then? Is it like a Mermaid? Well sort of, yes. Mer Man was a baddie in the hit cartoon show 'He Man,' in the eighties. He made several appearances in the programme and skulked in the seas, waiting for his victims. He was definitely one of the best baddies from the show, with his amphibian like features and slimy looking skin. Mattel first produced an action figure of Mer Man in the mid eighties; years on and they have returned to the figure and produced this fancier edition. Mer Man stands at about six inches in height and has been made from a plastic resin. The toy is poseable, so you can twist his head, move the arms and shoulders and also bend his legs to create new poses. If you examine the colour scheme, the colours are even better than before, with a wonderful dark turquoise for his skin colour, offset with yellow armour. Mer Man has a muscular framework and very satisfying thighs and arms, with huge muscles. The armour carefully contours his muscles and gives him an air of masculinity. The armour around his chest can be removed if you wish and has excellent articulation on the front with bobbly bits and a fancy belt line. Just underneath this, he sports a pair of yellow trunks, which in turn have a lovely rippled texture to them. The figure comes with a magnificent staff, which has been made for a flimsy weapon. The sheath is sturdy and the head of it boasts impressive detail. Combined with very pleasing artwork on the box, this is a very good figure. It is well made, visually enchanting and represents good play value. To buy loose you will pay a few pounds. Boxed figures are rarer and will command over fifteen pounds though.
