My niece is a huge fan of Moshi Monsters as are most people her age I believe. She has a vast collection which she plays with daily - sorting them out into colours, series, favourites etc and she loves to spend hours just looking through them all.
Blurp is her favourite Moshi Monster apparently (though this often changes and when I got her Hansel he turned into her favourite) but I think we can safely say Blurp is one of her favourites because he is often seen and he is definitely favoured in her eyes.
The original Blurp is bright green as can be shown above but after Moshi Monsters release seasonal desgined Moshi's he can also be picked up in a special Halloween version now which is either a glow in the dark green or a glow in the dark blue.
My niece has a couple of the original Blurps and she also has the glow in the dark blue one which I bought her a couple of weeks ago.
Blurp is definitely one of the larger Moshi's, as he is spikey his spikes tend to take up more space than a more streamlined Moshi would so in total Blurp is around 3cm across and 2cm tall and 2cm deep. He looks exactly as shown above and has bright blue eyes and bright pink lips. The halloween version looks the same apart from the green shown above is a sort of ice blue colour which then will subtly glow in the dark if it has been exposed to light.
My niece loves Blurp, I think its because he looks quite funky and he is very 'out there' as he doesnt really have a body or any limbs, instead he is just a face. He does remind me of a fish I think its because of the lips.
Blurp's body/head/face (?!) is made from a medium-hard plastic which means he remains very durable and can be thrown about, dropped and chucked in a bag with other Moshi's without having to worry - his spikes are also an excellent form of protection! His spikes are not sharp but they do help to keep his main body from making contact with other areas. The lips and eyes are made of a softer plastic similar to rubber, this is smooth and keeps its colours well though if the poor Moshi has been through a lot the colouring can occasionally get a bit scratched.
As with all Moshi's, Blurp doesnt actually do much, he just sits there looking pretty. However, he is definitely a firm favourite in my nieces collection and I can see why - he is fun to look at and a lovely bright colour.
Although Moshi Monsters dont do much I do think they are a nice gift for children as they can collect them and use them for all different types of games and role play. In addition to this because they dont technically do anything they can last pretty much forever and it is nice for children to get into collecting something.
We like Blurp because he is fun and bright. Both me and my niece would definitely recommend him if your little monkey doesnt have him in their collection yet!
